The GlobeIn Artisan Gift Box is a subscription that sends 4-5 handcrafted products from around the world. All items are produced either by collectives that are fair trade certified or that respect and adhere to fair trade principles. All artisans and farmers whose products are distributed by Globe In are paid a fair wage for their products.
Subscriptions cost $55 per month, but the price can go as low as $40 with a longer subscription. For those who would prefer to receive one handmade product each month, GlobeIn also operates the GlobeIn Club which costs $10 each month.
GlobeIn is committed to empowering artisans around the world. With each shipment, you’ll get to learn about the artisans and communities your purchase has helped to support.
DEAL: Save $10 on a 3-month subscription with coupon code WELCOME.
The theme for this box is AL FRESCO. Artisan Box subscribers have a selection of themes from which to choose. This way, artisans will be able to meet GlobeIn’s needs while also having longer, steady work as they continue to produce items for the Artisan Box.
Along with all of the lovely items in the box, the Artisan Box includes a booklet that gives details about each of the artists responsible for the items in the box.
Everything in my box!
Enamel-coated Plate – India. This item is from a fair trade collective based in Moradabad that runs schools, provides for the families of artisans, and even offers free health care.
I like the design and how lightweight this plate is. It is made of enamel coated stainless steel, light enough to bring outdoors for an al fresco dining experience.
Globe In says it is not microwave-safe, but you can still use it to warm up food over an open flame. Talk about glamping!
Utensil Holder – Mexico. This item is made by an Oaxacan weaver, who is also a mother of a 3-month-old child.
This utensil holder makes it easier to transport spoons, forks, and even chopsticks to and from your favorite picnic place.
No more loose utensils or poked holes!
The weaving is good and the colors are just perfect for summer! We placed a few utensils (not included in the box) inside the pouch for this photo.
Plantain Chips – Colombia. Some of the best plantains can be found in the Quindio Region of Colombia. These yummy chips are made of plantains from a farm owned by an 80-year-old Colombian man.
Nom nom nom! If you’re a fan of plantain chips, you might finish this bag before you even get to take it outdoors.
This pack of plantain strips is vegan-friendly, certified paleo, and naturally gluten-free. It includes sea salt too.
Serape – Mexico. This item is from a collective in Mexico that sources raw weaving materials and delivers them free of charge to the homes of its artisan members.
I love this serape, it can be used as a blanket or a shawl!
It was skillfully weaved by a local artisan.
Perfect to use for beach days and even just for a lazy afternoon picnic somewhere in the backyard.
This box is packed with practical items – such a wonderful set that made us look forward to spending summer outdoors!
