Everything in my box!

There’s a note that shares tips on how to encourage communication.

There are library book cards that we can stick to each book if ever we are going to lend them to some friends!

The books this month are Nipper and the Lunchbox by Lucy Dillamore, and Rusty the Squeaky Robot by Neil Clark.

Rusty The Squeaky Robot by Neil Clark ($3.47)

Rusty is a friendly robot, but not a very happy one; he’s feeling down about the way that he sounds. The other robots on Planet Robotone – Belle, Twango, Hoot and Boom-Bot – show Rusty that being a little bit different is the best way to be, and together make a raucous song and dance that celebrates their differences. This charming story about friendship, self-discovery and the strength of pooling everyone’s talents together has a strong, empowering message of acceptance and embracing individuality. With wonderful, contemporary illustrations that will appeal to young children and parents alike, the story will provoke thought – and conversation – about being different, and how we should all embrace our characteristics and be comfortable and confident in ourselves.

The book cover is pretty colorful!

The synopsis of the story is printed on the flap of the book’s dust jacket. The endpaper also looks amazing and out-of-this-world.

The story introduces the kids to Rusty Robot! This makes such a fun read for kids who love robots or just about any kid who enjoys reading aloud because the text is perfect for that.

Coupled with adorable contemporary art that kids and adults will both love, the story boasts about celebrating individuality and acceptance, and that everything works well when we do it together, like how the robots of Robotone made great music after pooling everyone’s talents!

Nipper And The Lunchbox by Lucy Dillamore ($11)

Nipper hates being left alone all day while his best friend Richard is at work. But when he realizes one morning that Richard has left his lunchbox behind, Nipper sets off on a difficult journey to deliver it. Will Nipper find Richard in time? Will he survive the many dangers along the way? And what will happen when he gets there? A touching story from a new talent about the power of determination and the strength of true friendship.

The back of the book gives us a sneak peek on what adventure awaits us!

The dust jacket’s inside flap has the same synopsis as what’s on the back cover. Meanwhile, the endpaper is filled with framed photos of Nipper and his human Richard!

This is a cute story matched with adorable illustrations! My kids love dogs, so they can easily relate to this one.

This is a great story of true friendship and determination. My kids had fun with Nipper’s quest as well!

We got another set of fun children’s reads from Elephant Books and my kids couldn’t be happier. Both books have amazing stories that appeal to kids, as well as beautiful illustrations! The robots of Robotone showed us that being different is amazing and that working together helps create beautiful things, like music. The story of Nipper is also great. Perfect for dog lovers like us, the story shows an inspiring friendship between a dog and a human! We love this month’s books overall! They both deserve a spot on our favorites shelf!
