Bluum is a subscription box service that sends products for moms and babies to your home each month. Bluum curates its boxes by selecting the highest-rated products geared for a child’s particular age. Boxes are available for pregnant moms and moms with children between the ages of 0 and 5.
Each box arrives well-packaged with attractive tissue paper and a card describing the box’s intended recipient – in this case, a 24-month-old child.

Unlike many subscriptions, Bluum gives you the option of selecting your own products each month. A caveat though: sometimes, even if you select your own products, you’ll get something else. That’s what happened to me this month! Although I selected four products, Bluum must have run out of three of them; I received one item that I selected along with three substitutions. I’m assuming this is why my box arrived late this month; I received my October box in mid-November. Let’s see how they did!

Books and toys! My daughter was very excited about what she saw.

I’m glad since these were effectively her birthday presents from us! (We also gave her a pretty blue fairy cape, but she wasn’t too interested in it.)

Haba’s Magic Forest Friends Pull Toy ($24.99) is adorable! The animals are removable and add a nice sensory dimension to the toy. The squirrel has a bell that rings when you pick him up, and the blue friend is full of small beads that make a sound when you rub them.

My daughter had to play with the toy has soon as she saw it!

She delighted in taking her new animals for a walk around the foyer.

She must have gotten a little jealous of her new animals because she eventually picked them up so that she could sit on and ride in her new toy.

Rich Frog’s Girl Puppy Classic Pull Toy ($15.95) was equally cute! After taking her new puppy for a walk, she again decided that she wanted to join in on the fun.

She sat on her puppy to see if the puppy would take her for a ride.

Next, she stacked her woodland friends on the puppy to see if she could pull all three along.

Finally, she put her new puppy and the woodland toys into the Hape carriage and took everyone for a walk around the foyer. Fun!
“Bob the Dog” by Rodrigo Folgueira and Poly Bernatene ($4.99) was the one item that we received this month that I had preselected, and my entire family loved it! It’s a cute and silly story about a young bird who unexpectedly hides in the belly of a dog to try to get out of cleaning his room. As my kids were reading it, their concern for the dog turned to cheers when the bird finally emerged. My son understood the book’s central message: if we try to shirk our responsibilities, the consequences can be harsh.
I loved the artwork in “Animals Babies on the Mountain” by Julia Groves ($4.99)! Both my kids enjoyed this book as well. My son learned a lot of new definitions for words, and I learned a new word too: alpaca babies are called cria. Cool!
My entire family enjoyed our selections this month. Even though I didn’t pick three of the items in this month’s box, I was delighted with the substitutions that Bluum made for us. They seemed to take into account that we really want to receive toys and books each month. I’m sure my daughter will continue to play with her new toys daily, and we’ll continue to read our new books together as a family.

That’s an awesome box!! I never got a nice box like that when I did Bluum for 7 months. My last box with them, I only got two items I picked and two random items, one that were leggings for my son that were already too small. I will never sub to Bluum again, horrible experience, bad customer service and they don’t actually send you the items you pick
I’m so sorry to hear it! I’ve definitely had better luck when I’ve picked my own items, although it’s disappointing when you think you’ve picked something and it doesn’t show up. When Bluum has picked for me in the past, I too have had sizing issues (and, strangely, gender issues). Still, I think they did really well with their substitutions for me this month. Fingers crossed they keep up the good work!
