Huygens is an organic French personal care brand that utilizes pure essential oils. Their skincare products are housed in recyclable and biodegradable packaging.
Huygens Eye Contour Cream ($35) Formulated with paracress, avocado oil, and cucumber extract, this cream helps keep the under eye area fresh and bright. It also has anti-aging properties that reduces the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles with continued use. Another unique ingredient of this eye cream is the ash concentrate, which targets skin discoloration.
I really like the consistency of this product. It creamy but light, and it goes on smoothly on my skin. It’s great to use in the morning, before putting on makeup! The cucumber extract is SUPER present in this one. I found it refreshing and non-irritating.

Huygens Hyaluronic Acid Concentrate ($44) Here’s a hydrating and revitalizing serum, powered by organic hyaluronic acid, cucumber extract, aloe vera, and rose water. It actually uses both high molecular weight hyaluronic acid and low molecular weight hyaluronic acid. The former helps hydrate and smooth the skin, while the latter boosts the production of collagen and elastin. I love the lightweight formula of this serum. It also has a gel-like texture that feels luxurious when applied on the skin! This is ideally used in the morning. Just get 3 drops and massage on your face using your fingertips. You can also use it on its own or paired with your choice of moisturizer.
Huygens Organic Night Repair Oil ($44) Of course, there’s also a product for my nighttime routine! It’s a repair oil that supports skin regeneration. Key active ingredients include coconut oil and organic hazelnut oil which has skin repairing properties, argan oil that helos protect the skin, and organic sweet almond oil that brings nourishment. It also contains lavender essential oil, jojoba oil, and rosewood essential oil. This cocktail of oils promises to work as you sleep, so your skin looks and feel better the next day. They suggest heating 5 drops of oil on the tips of your fingers before tapping lightly on the skin. It’s suitable for all skin types!
Each bottle came with a dropper applicator so it’s easier to control the amount of product I need to dispense while also keeping the rest of the product clean and the bottle mess-free. The night repair oil was very slightly not clear (likely because of the almond oil) and the hyaluronic acid concentrate was completely clear. Just wanted to show that it’s the bottles that are colored, not the product!
The Detox Box features a French skincare brand this month! There are 3 items in the box: an eye cream, a hydrating serum, and a night oil. All of them harness the natural properties of essential oils, keeping the skin healthy and radiant! My favorite among all the items is the eye cream. It has a good consistency and it works well under makeup. With a little amount, it helps make me look fresh everyday and the cucumber is invigorating! The serum for my morning routine and oil for my nighttime routine are also quite promising. I’m happy to get to know HUYGENS through this clean beauty subscription.
