First Look

AstroBox is a quarterly space & astronomy discovery box for all ages. Expect to receive 5-8 themed products with a unique t-shirt, art print, mission patch, and a magazine filled with mission news and activities. Each themed box is based on an astronomical event or current space missions. Bring your curiosity as you explore the final frontier.

Booklet

I noticed a few differences in the packaging since the Winter 2016 Review. The items arrived in a plain white box with no markings.

Information Booklet

The Fall theme is Exploring Saturn! The booklet contains information on each item, articles, and stunning pictures.

Astrobox Fall 2017

Here are the items in the Fall 2017 Astrobox. I ordered this STEM box for J, age 9, as an additional learning tool for his astronomy class. He is beyond excited and can’t wait to check everything out.

Patch and Saturn Charms

We received the International Space Station Expedition 53 Crew Path and two Saturn Charms. J loved learning about the new crew members that launched to the International Space Station on September 13, 2017. He placed the Saturn Charms on his Stitch key chain.

Voyager Metal Earth Model Kit

J can’t wait to assemble the Voyager Metal Earth Model Kit ($9.58). I’m not too sure about my ability to assist him. The Voyager Spacecraft crashed into Saturn on September 15, 2017 ending 20 years of exploring Jupiter and Saturn.

Information

J is fascinating by the gravity-defying Precision Gyroscope ($10.00) which illustrates how spacecraft travel through space.

Saturn From titan by Steven Hobbs

My favorite item is the 8 x 10 print Saturn From Titan by Steven Hobbs. The stunning print shows Saturn and two if its moons through Titan’s atmosphere. It came boarded and wrapped in plastic which I appreciate.

The Photographic Card Deck of the Solar System

J’s favorite item is The Photographic Card Deck of the Solar System by Marcus Chown ($21.87 Amazon). We will be using the 158 cards with amazing pictures and detailed facts throughout the school year and beyond.

Cassini’s Grand Finale

It’s time to say goodbye to Cassini! The super soft 100% polyester American Apparel shirt is not available in children sizes much to J’s dismay. It features a beautiful artist rendition of Cassini entering Saturn’s atmosphere.

J and I loved the 2017 Fall Astrobox. We enjoyed learning about current astronomical events, satellites, Saturn, and the solar system. It’s an excellent box for astronomy fans that are young and young at heart!
