The March 1Up Box theme is VERSUS! 1 Up Box is a geek and gamer subscription box. They describe themselves as offering something remarkable, something creative, and something unique in which all geeks and gamers can fancy. Each month, receive 4-6 items including gear, snacks, toys, art, and just about anything that spells awesome.
J, my 7-year-old, assisted me in unboxing the March1Up Box. He was excited to help me because he sees it as his gaming box!
I caught J at the tailend of his excitement over seeing a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle item.
I was curious about how 1Up would handle the theme VERSUS because it is a family friendly box. J looked over everything and was happy to see that nothing looked scary.
Both boys are big fans of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles! J is happy to receive the Leonardo Plush ($9.89) because Leonardo is his favorite TMNT. Subscribers received one of the four Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. T, age 17, can’t wait for the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out of Shadows Movie to be released on June 3, 2016.
Looks like the Blue Team and the Red Team of Halo have a few questions about their purpose. We all have days like that. J likes it because they are magnets. T, age 17, grumbled something about how mom won’t let him play M rated games.
The Super Shoelaces are Super Mario themed. It’s Mario Head, Bowser’s Head, and then Peaches’ Crown. They are adult shoelaces which are a good thing because J did not recognize the item as shoelaces – most younger kid shoes do not have shoelaces! He plans to use the shoe laces in one of his inventions.
The Vault Notes have something to do with the apocalypse. J loves sticky notes and found the design to be appealing. He uses them for all kinds of things.
The Halo people are playing against each other. Who will win?
The Trinity Pin is awesome. The overall pin is Batman. The Superman Symbol is in the middle. The two W’s on top of each other is the Wonder Woman symbol.
J loves the shirt. He is much too young for the Batman versus Superman Movie coming out this week, and this is a great way for him to feel a part of the excitement. T can’t wait to see the movie and is attending the Thursday Premiere. The t-shirt is J’s favorite item in the box. He says Wonder Woman looks like a mom trying to break up a fight between her two boys.
J loves the March 1Up Box. He has plans for everything in the box and recognized almost everything. Both boys enjoyed seeing what was in the box. 1Up is a budget friendly way for the family to enjoy gamer/geek boxes. It’s also a lot of fun for me to see him enjoy his own gamer items. He wants to catch up with his big brother!
