Ipsy Glam Bag The bag for this month is peachy keen! I like the blue and white stripe pattern on cotton material with a fuzzy peach pom pom zipper pull. The inside is lined with peach polyester fabric to make it easy to wipe clean. Cute!

Elemis Superfood Glowing Moisturizer ($25) is a three-in-one product – it moisturizes skin, works as a primer, and can be used as highlighter. I applied after cleansing and it left behind a golden glow, which was covered up as soon as I applied my powdered foundation. As a primer, it worked well, my makeup went on smoothly. I didn’t think it worked all that great as a highlighter when I applied it to my cheeks. It has added fragrance, which smells like green tea and maybe a hint of rose. It left my skin feeling irritated, there was a little burning after application.

Avant Skincare Advanced Bio Restorative Superfood Facial Oil (Around $30 value) I’m ok with applying straight up natural oil to my face, although this one has a few preservatives to help it last longer on my shelf. Some of the ingredients are sweet almond oil, jojoba oil, and papaya extract. Supposedly it has raspberry seed oil yet I couldn’t find it listed on the brand’s website, the Ipsy website, or the box itself. This product is supposed to reduce the appearance of fine lines and reverse the signs of aging. No artificial scent here, and the oil smells a bit like dirt, very earthy, and my skin absorbed it quickly without leaving behind a greasy feeling.

Dew of the Gods Amalfi Gold Heaven-Grade Hair Serum ($10) This hair oil is described as “heaven grade” at least three times on the brand’s website, although I’m not sure that’s an official term. It’s a lightly fragranced hair oil that is supposed to provide shine while protecting hair from heated appliances. It has two silicone ingredients, plus mineral oil, four plant oils, and fragrance. I don’t use this type of product but I noticed it smelled really nice, with a warm fruity scent, and the bit I rubbed on my arm was absorbed quickly.

Skone Cosmetics Luxe Lip Liner in Cosmo ($18) is a pinky nude liner with a dry texture and opaque coverage. One my lips it makes them disappear, and I found it was hard to apply, I couldn’t line the bottom and rub my lips together, it wouldn’t transfer. However, I discovered it made a good base, and I could go over it with lipstick and it stayed on longer than usual, sort of like primer for my lips. Swatched below.

Chica Beauty Mini Fiesta Eyeshadow Palette ($15) I live pretty close to San Antonio, which is the color inspiration of this palette! It actually reminded me of the ’80’s and power suits but this was pretty decent for the price. These colors are well pigmented, except for the lightest color, which didn’t really show up at all. Some of the colors are rather brownish-orange – don’t let the picture at the brand’s website fool you, they look darker in real life. I had some fall out but the colors blended easily. I dampened the brush before applying one of the shimmers and it went on smoothly and made my eyes pop.

Swatched above are the Skone lipliner and some of the shades from the Chica Beauty palette. I swatched Churro, Viva Chica, Cascaron, and Stars at Night. Viva Chica was my favorite shade.

I liked the assortment of products in my latest Ipsy Glam Bag! My favorite item was the Avant face oil, it glided over my skin and didn’t leave it greasy, making a nice base for makeup. I also ended up liking the liner, maybe not the color but the fact that it helped my lipstick stay on longer. I wasn’t a fan of the Elemis product, and I avoid oils and fragrance on my hair so the Amalfi Gold oil will be passed along. The Chica Beauty palette had a festive lineup of colors and I found a couple that I would likely hit pan on eventually. The value for this bag assortment was around $98.
