Mancera Amore Caffe Eau De Parfum ($105 for 60ml) The inspiration behind this fragrance is affogato, which I’ve never had but can imagine – hot coffee poured over vanilla ice cream. It’s a rich gourmand with the listed notes of coffee, amaretto, vanilla ice cream, and amber. I spritzed it on and a few minutes later my husband, who was in the next room, said he liked whatever it was I was wearing. I don’t really drink coffee but I love the smell of it, and this one feels like a cozy hug with its creamy, sweet, and warm amber notes. Like walking into your favorite coffee shop/bakery! It lasted for a couple of hours before fading and the projection was pretty good, I mean my husband smelled it from the other room!
Montale Lucky Candy Eau De Parfum ($180 for 100ml) I think “sweet musky floral” is the best description for this perfume. As I sit here and sniff my arm I can’t even tell what exactly I’m sniffing, but the scent notes include bergamot, cacao, frangipani, marshmallow, Lily of the Valley, musk, and vanilla – it’s all over the place! I think the floral notes are what hit me the hardest, the sweetness fades fast, and the musk lasts all day. I used to wear a perfume way back when that was called Paris by YSL (not to be confused with Mon Paris and its flankers) and this is like an updated version (although it’s been decades so I could be remembering wrongly). I think this one can be worn all year long, projects the right amount, and again, it lasts all day.
Montale Sweet Vanilla Eau De Parfum ($180 for 100ml) is another gourmand, but it’s not as rich as the coffee-scented stunner – this one is sweet as cotton candy! It has a base of sweet vanilla (which smells like spun sugar, or maybe toasted marshmallows?) plus juicy apricot. It’s supposed to have a white musk note too but I’m not picking it up. It’s simple and straightforward, and a perfect choice to wear as the weather starts to warm up. Longevity is pretty good, I picked it up for several hours after applying, and the projection was within my circle of personal space, maybe someone sitting close by would notice it.
Place your vial in the case and push it down until the nozzle is hidden, then twist to expose the sprayer and apply as needed. LUXSB sends vials that are .30 oz/9ml, enough for 150 sprays, or 5 sprays a day for a month.
LUXSB is a great way to discover new fragrances, without a trip to the mall and without having to blind buy an expensive bottle of “I wonder what it will smell like?”. I like wearing pricey perfumes and colognes but I also like to play the field and change up my scent depending on the season, weather, or whatever I’m feeling in the morning and this is the perfect way to do that. Of course, if I find a scent I love then I can buy a big bottle of it for a discount thanks to special membership pricing. LUXSB sends the largest sized portable perfumes but they are also TSA friendly for travel. I am loving the scents that I received this month, and although all of them are considered unisex, they were on the “feminine” spectrum, with a lot of sweetness, florals, and fruits.
