Ipsy Glam Bag I thought this month’s bag was adorable! I once had an Erin Condren planner with a similar pattern, and I’ve always been fascinated with marbled paint and the blending/bleeding color mixes that are the result. The bag should be easy to wipe clean with its faux leather finish, and the inside is lined with blue polyester fabric. The zipper pull was cute too!

Pacifica Glow Baby Brightening Facial Wash ($5) I received a pretty good sized tube of this cleanser, it should last for a while! It’s supposed to clean skin, obviously, but it’s also supposed to brighten and exfoliate (although it’s a chemical exfoliator, not the scrubby physical kind). It is brightly colored, skip using the white washcloths because this stuff is sunshine yellow. It smelled good, although it was rather strong, and reminded me of an orange vanilla ice cream bar.

Karma Beauty Truffle Leave-In Conditioner I couldn’t find this on the brand’s website so not sure where you might pick up more if you end up liking it. Ipsy says it’s supposed to nourish, hydrate, and strengthen hair from the “inside out”. You distribute some through hands and run through damp hair, especially the ends, and try not to get it too close to the scalp or it might weigh hair down. Comb through and style as usual. It has a fruity floral fragrance that is pleasant but keep in mind that dimethicone can build up on hair.

Wingme Cosmetics Mega Shading Brush 13 ($23 listed value) I couldn’t find this brush on the Wingme website but a set containing four brushes is only $17 so I’m not sure why this one has such a high value. I used it to apply shadow to my lid and then to blend out the crease and it was fine, the bristles were dense and seemed to be sturdy. Nothing fancy here, just an everyday basic.

Eleman Beauty Lip Liner in So Seductive ($16) The shade So Seductive is described as deep burgundy but it’s more of a bright berry when it goes on my lips, it’s definitely bold. It can be paired with a similar shade of lipstick but I ended up going over it with some lip balm so it wasn’t so striking and to make it wearable for my desired daily look. Swatched below.

Shades by Shan Life of the Party Vol. 2 ($20 listed value, closer to $12.25 based on palette size) When I looked for these at the brand’s website, it redirected me to J.C. Penney, who sells the full-sized palette that these shades are from ($49 for 12 colors). I applied the lightest shade from lash to brow, and it didn’t give the best coverage, even with primer. Next I applied the rosy shade as my transition color, then applied the dark purple shimmer to my crease (and those colors seemed to blend well). Finally, I used a wet brush to apply the light pinky shimmer to my lid, with minimal fallout. Overall I ended up with a dramatic but flattering eye look and was pleased with this palette!

Swatched on top is the So Seductive lip liner followed by the Life of the Party palette.

I thought the Ipsy Glam Bag for March 2024 was adorable, I especially liked the colors and marbled pattern. I was surprised at how much I liked the Shades by Shan mini eyeshadow palette, the finished look I did was really pretty, and the glittery shade makes it pop. The lip liner was a bold color for me, but I made it work by applying it lightly and then going over it with lip balm, gloss, or lighter lip colors — I change it up each day. I didn’t try the leave-in conditioner both because I have fine hair and I avoid putting perfumed products on that area as much as possible. The makeup brush was fine and the Pacifica cleanser will probably last a month or so if I only use it before bed. The value for this combination was hard to figure out, and I’m always skeptical of inflated values given by companies that don’t have a presence somewhere other than their own website (Pacifica excluded), but I know it exceeded the subscription price plus I will get a lot of use out of most of the items (and that super cute bag!).
