The December 2023 theme from My French Country Home was Soirée Elegante and I received lovely French-made products that were chosen to help us sail through the season with sophisticated accessories for all of our holiday celebrations. This box is beautifully presented and ships directly from France. It is filled with high-quality, luxurious items made in France. See our review below!
Maison Godet Body Cream in Zeste d’agrume ($55) didn’t come with an ingredients label so all I know is what I found on the MFCHB website, which lists apricot oil, sweet almond oil, argan oil, and royal jelly extract. Zeste d’agrume is citrus zest, but this doesn’t smell like oranges, lemons, or any of that. It’s a sophisticated perfumed scent that lingers and I also caught a whiff of the natural oils when I first applied it to my arms. You won’t need a separate perfume when wearing this. The container is glass and looks fancy on my bathroom counter. Scents and bottle color may vary.
Photo Print/Card by Jamie Beck Jamie Beck is the resident artist and here we have one of her beautiful photos printed on cardstock and it’s suitable for framing or for sending to a friend in the included oversized envelope. The idea is that you receive a print each quarter and after a year you will have a set of prints that can be framed and displayed as a coordinating group. On the other hand, you have four elegant cards to send to someone special throughout the year.
Thank you gift from Maxim’s De Paris (Around $8.50 value) I love chocolate and this quarter’s thank you gift is a tin of milk chocolate pearls from Maxim’s. The tin itself features a picture from a famous French caricaturist and the tin is similar to a caviar box. I pop a few pearls in my mouth and let them melt, but it would be easy to down the whole thing at once.
Maison Fanli Leather Wallet ($85) is made of cowhide and inside there’s three sections, with one of them having a zipper. There’s a snap closure on the outside. This shade is taupe and the leather is pebbled.
Antique Liqueur Glasses may vary from box to box but these are so adorable! They’re not very big but would possibly hold a small flower, an assortment of seasonal candies, nuts, or an after dinner drink.
Louise Damas Earrings in Charlotte (Around $93) I’m always sad when I get earrings because I don’t have pierced ears anymore (due to allergic reactions). These are handmade of brass and tin and are covered in 24k gold and they are “about the same weight as a hazelnut” (what a helpful description from the website!).
Yolaine Lip Crayons ($45) I received a set of three nude lip crayons but some subscribers may receive the set in various shades of red. I have tried all three colors and they looked good on me, which I can’t always say about nude lipstick. They glide on easily and have a matte finish which you can change to shiny with a swipe of gloss.
Here are the swatches!
Emma Cape by Fanli in Beige/Crème ($115) comes in three different colors (so your cape may differ from mine) and the cape is reversible so you get two looks in one piece. It’s made of 100% viscose and the edges are fringed. It’s super soft and lends an elegant look to outfits.
Here it is with the darker side (which is still pretty light in tone) on the outside. It’s very wrinkled because on cold mornings I tend to wrap myself in it while I sit at the computer. It’s so soft and I feel elegant even when I’m still in my jammies.
Here’s the product info guide, which looks like a magazine!
As always, the seasonal box from My French Country Home was filled with elegant, exceptional products that helped me get through my holiday activities in style. I don’t even have to leave my house to feel like a million bucks in my velvety soft cape! When I do go out, I smell wonderful thanks to the body lotion, no other perfume is needed when I have it on. I also make sure to slick on one of my new lip crayons, I’m happy with the matte finish because I tend to wear highlighter and I don’t want to go overboard on the shine, although I have applied a shimmery gloss over top for daytime. I enjoyed eating a few chocolate pearls each evening as a special treat, and the other items in the box are of high quality and are perfect for either wearing out or entertaining at home. Most of these items can be found at the MFCH store on their website and keep in mind that you can add the MFCH magazine for an additional charge and it will ship with your box!
