LUXSB is a great place to find niche fragrance brands, most of which I’ve never encountered in stores. This month I was introduced to Who Is Elijah, which has 10 fragrances in their collection and who are based in Australia. All of their scents are considered unisex.
Who Is Elijah Nomad ($55 for 10ml) It was love at first spritz when I tried Nomad, a floral woody musk that is absolutely perfect for fall and winter. Some of the fragrance notes are saffron, amberwood, musk, amber, and tree resin. I used to avoid scents that had ambergris but now I love them, it offers a sharp, clean note that makes this wearable for day or night. It was designed to be the “little black dress or navy suit” of your fragrance collection, suitable for wearing all the time. I think it smells warm and cozy, and then there’s a touch of something feral at the base, I keep thinking of leather. It lasted for quite a while on my skin but I don’t think it projected in an obnoxious way and was mostly gone by midday. It left me feeling comforted all day long.
Who Is Elijah Haze ($45 for 10ml) is a woody aromatic scent that is just lovely and absolutely perfect for daytime during the fall and winter. It has a sweet smokiness that might remind one of sitting around the fireplace, snuggling under the covers, drinking hot cocoa with toasted marshmallows, and maybe eating cookies – in other words, it’s comforting. Some of the fragrance notes are pink pepper, chestnut, vanilla, and cedar-wood. Longevity is short and projection is intimate. It’s like the previous cologne’s little sister: Haze is sweet and coy while Nomad is stronger and a bit boisterous.
Who Is Elijah Rebel Rose ($55 for 10ml) Rose scents can be hit or miss for me and this one is a hit (and for the record, I don’t like a “classic” rose note). Some of the notes are saffron, patchouli, oud, amber, and musk. It’s a dirty rose, a sexy scent, suitable for date night rather than work, and is super long lasting. It projects around your area but doesn’t scream. This is a rose for the colder, darker time of the year – it smells not just warm but downright hot. There’s something in here that also reminds me of red wine, and a tiny bit of sweetness at the base that reminds me of honey.
There was a card that describes how to replace your fragrance vials in the holder. You will receive a new holder each quarter.
LUXSB is the perfect way to discover new fragrances, especially from niche brands that may be hard to find in stores. They offer the largest travel sized spray and yet they are TSA friendly too. Each vial holds enough for around 150 sprays, or 5 sprays a day for a whole month! A full sized bottle from Who Is Elijah runs from between $105 to $169 depending on size, and even their travel sized bottles are significantly more expensive than what you would pay at LUXSB, so it’s a great way to try before you buy (and subscribers also receive discounts on shop purchases!). LUXSB adds new scents frequently, and currently they have over 800 fragrances for men and women. I enjoyed trying these scents from Who Is Elijah, and again, I don’t think I would have ever found them without LUXSB!
