The October 2023 Vegancuts Beauty Box theme was Ghoulish Glam & Glow and they sent five beauty products such as a shampoo and conditioner duo, a lip gloss, and an exfoliating scrub. You can expect to receive vegan and cruelty-free products (and Vegancuts offers a snack box too)! See what I received in this month’s box below!

DEAL: Use the coupon code hellosub to get $5 off your first box on any Vegancuts subscription! It can only be used once per customer, but it can be used on multiple subscriptions at once so long as they are in the same transaction.

Authentic Beauty Concept Hydrate Set ($11 each) I normally use unscented products on my hair but went ahead and tried this moisturizing duo on a day I wasn’t planning to leave the house (I didn’t try to style my hair afterwards). The cleanser didn’t suds up as much as my usual shampoo, but the conditioner sure left my hair sleek and soft. I liked the scent, which is described as mango basil and smelled sweet and warm. It was hard to get the product out of the containers, the sides are hard and the product is thick.

Dr. Botanicals Coffee & Walnut Superfood Renewing Facial Exfoliator ($6.90) This brand is featured most months and I must say, I’m not a fan. This scrub has ground up walnut shell inside of a thick base. It was a gentle scrub but of course the amount of pressure you use can make a difference. It didn’t smell like coffee, but smelled a bit like the oils are starting to go off. There’s enough product to maybe last through 3-5 uses.

Natural Vitality Vitamin C Hydro-Gel Eye Pads (about $43 USD) I had to laugh at the retail value for three pairs of undereye pads, that seems silly. These are supposed to improve the appearance of the undereye area, making it look brighter and less saggy and of course claims to provide moisture. The ingredients include aloe, glycerin, and green tea extract and sadly, fragrance, which Vegancuts says they supposedly won’t send. I placed these on and immediately I noticed that they were very thick, and therefore they wouldn’t stay in place and after about 2 minutes I threw them away. I didn’t notice much of a scent and I didn’t feel any oily residue. I would suggest that you wear these while lying down so they won’t slip so I will try that in the future.

Bellapierre Cosmetics Lip Closs in Clear (about $5.36) One of the other ingredients that Vegancuts has pledged not to send is petroleum jelly but the first ingredient in this gloss is parrafinum, which is mineral oil which is derived from petroleum. It felt fine on my lips, not too gloopy, but I don’t care for the scent, which reminds me vaguely of jet engine exhaust. I normally like this brand but not this particular product. Vegancuts announced that this is the first makeup item they’ve sent, and I would anticipate makeup showing up from now on (and there’s a shadow palette coming next time around).

Vegancuts sent 5 beauty items from a variety of categories, from skincare to hair care to makeup. I liked the shampoo and conditioner most of all, mainly because they smelled good. The eye gels would have worked better if I had been on my backside, but they slid down my face while I tried to complete my beauty routine. I’m not a fan of the coffee scrub or the lip gloss, mainly because they both smelled odd, with one about to go off and the other smelled like chemicals. This box had a retail value of around $77, with most of that coming from a pack of three eye gels.
