Aesthete Box by CLOTH & PAPER Fall 2023 box is here with the theme SUSTAINABLE LIVING and inside, I found mainly self-care items that were more natural than items you might find at the local drug or grocery store, and some of the products are meant to be reused again and again, with one brand offering refills that help reduce one-time plastic trash. Cloth & Paper is known for their stationery and planner supplies and we received an exclusive vegan leather planner and insert bundle. See what I received below!

Esker Magnesium Bath Enhancer ($35) & Dry Brush ($18) I love to dry brush, it helps my skin feel softer after I emerge from the shower, however, this brush is meant to be used before you get under the spray. You may need to watch a tutorial first but the basic idea is to brush upward from your ankles to your trunk, and from your wrists to your shoulders, and always brush towards the heart. As for the bath soak, what can I say, I don’t take baths due to the ongoing drought here in Texas (and my potentially outrageous water bills). You are supposed to squirt it 4-5 times into a bath and then get in and breathe deeply to encourage relaxation.

TBH Hazelnut Cocoa Spread ($11.69) This is a slightly different take on everybody’s favorite chocolate hazelnut spread. It has sugar, but less than the original, as some of it is replaced by monk fruit extract. It also has slightly more protein and there’s no palm oil. You can use it on a sandwich, as a dip with fruit, or straight off of the spoon but don’t forget, it still has a lot of calories and sugar due to its nature as a sweetened nut spread.

Stojo Collapsible Cup in Cashmere ($19.95) is a collapsible cup made with food-grade silicone, plus it’s microwave and dishwasher safe. It fits together like a puzzle and it holds 16 ounces of hot or cold drinks or even food (I’m thinking oatmeal or a thick soup).

Ten Over Ten The Rewind Exfoliator ($28) This has a funky cool applicator — it has a scrubby side that you buff over nails or the back of your hands! The product itself has a little bit of a gritty texture and a soft, natural herbal scent. Remove the cap and then twist the applicator into the open position before squeezing a bit out and onto nails or hands. Buff away and then rinse, then follow with a hand lotion. I think I will reserve this for before bed use, since that’s when I apply a thick cream for overnight protection.

Merigold Facial Mask ($48) Powdered masks are neat because you can mix them up just before using, so hopefully they will last longer than those that are already wet (but don’t wait too long to use because the natural oils will eventually go rancid, even when dry). These both have natural ingredients (depending on the formula) like coconut, clay, plant extracts, oat, spirulina, rice, matcha, honey, and more. Each jar has enough product for 3-5 uses. Mix a teaspoon of powder with the same amount of water and then apply to a clean face. Leave on for 10-15 minutes before rinsing (I find standing under the shower spray works best for me) and then apply a face oil or moisturizer afterwards.

by Humankind Floss, Mouthwash, Toothpaste, & Deodorant Set ($66) You can get these four items bundled together to save $22 over the individual product prices. This set includes three items for keeping teeth and mouth fresh, plus a natural deodorant. The containers are reusable and refillable with all three of the mouth items being a combo of glass and silicone, while the deodorant container is a compostable PLA and straw blend that feels like sturdy plastic but that can be composted in an industrial composter (not the kind in your backyard). The refill packets are backyard compostable, and everything was packed into recyclable boxes. The idea is to reduce our dependence on single-use plastics. The toothpaste didn’t foam as much as my usual brand, and the mouthwash didn’t burn my mouth (yay!), but other than that the items did their job.

Vegan Leather Folio in Ristretto ($89 listed value) This planner came in the color Ristretto and it also came with a plastic page cover, rings, and a note taking insert. When ordering inserts or other supplies for your planner (such as from the Cloth & Paper website), you would order Half Letter 8-Disc Punch. I haven’t put this planner together since my current C&P system is a different size but it feels very nice and sturdy and there’s slots inside for cards and a pen loop.

My new planner came in this reusable drawstring bag!

Aesthete Box always introduces me to new brands and items, some that I’ve been curious about, others that I’ve never heard of before, but they are always high-quality and enjoyable. This season’s box was all about sustainable living and we received items that help guide us towards using less plastic and it also reminded me that one-time use products are not all that great for the environment. I liked the reusable containers for deodorant and tooth care products. I’m not likely to use the bath soak simply because I don’t take baths in the tub but I will consider using it as a foot soak. I recently started using a dry brush on a regular basis and the one I received fits well in my hand. I also liked the nail and hand exfoliator and thought the applicator was a novel idea. A reusable cup, clay masks, and hazelnut spread are good choices for this box and the vegan folio sure feels nice to the touch (but I also like my regular planner from Cloth & Paper too). The value for this box was around $316!

There were a couple of coupon codes inside the box.

Below you will find the product info card plus some more box opening pictures.

I love the reviews for the Aesthete box. This is a pretty cool subscription, but hard to justify the price. Not that the value isn’t there.

I really like the containers for the toothpaste and mouthwash tablets and that floss container is so pretty. Who knew I would ever gush about floss?

I will say that this box seems to be missing a hero item. I’m assuming it’s the folio set, which is beautiful. But many of us already have a system we use and customers of Cloth & Papers other paper & pen subscriptions already have their planner needs met, like you.

I want that dry brush!. I’m sorry you can’t take baths because of the drought. I am a huge bath person and get a bit desperate when I can’t take a relaxing soak if it’s been a while, like when living in an apartment with only a shower. Now I refuse to rent such an abomination. Lol

    Thank you for the review!

Thank you so much for your kind comments Lexie! I grew up in a home without a shower, so it was always baths for me and then I missed them when I lived in a dorm with only a shower. Our tub is the kind with jets and we’ve used it only a few times since our water is so expensive here.
