The Ipsy Glam Bag theme for October 2023 was Glam-o-ween! I received a bag and five beauty products including an eye cream, mascara, and more. I received three makeup items, plus, three of my items are considered full sized! Read on to see all of my beauty items!

Note: Ipsy sends many variations, so the bag I’m reviewing may not match everyone else’s.

Ipsy Glam Bag This month’s bag feels velvety smooth, and makes me think it would be at home lining a vampire’s coffin. You see the bats in the design too, right? The inside is lined in black polyester and the zipper pull is, of course, a bat.

Lavido Alert Eye Cream ($8.17) This product can be applied twice a day and is supposed to reduce the look of fine lines and puffiness and help the area feel firm. Some of the ingredients are aloe, a few different flower hydrosols, hyaluronic acid, and shea butter. It has a light natural scent that smells a little nutty. It dried quickly to a non-oily finish. It doesn’t have optical diffusers, it just tries its best to help the area look better.

Anastasia Beverly Hills Volumizing Mascara ($14) Products from ABH usually have pretty packaging and this was no exception, from the butterfly logo on the end to the rose gold touches here and there. The mascara is supposed to give lashes length and volume, something I can always use more of, but it worked as well as most mascaras, which is to say, it was fine. I gave my lashes one swipe and they didn’t seem very thick, which I guess means it wasn’t clumpy, but more on the drier side. I didn’t see any flakes during the day so it stayed on my lashes.

The Beauty Crop Oui Cherie Gripping Primer ($13.99, full sized) I’m not a primer person but I feel like there are better versions out there. This one is red and is supposed to be clear when applied so I don’t understand the need for dyes, plus, it definitely made my ruddy complexion (thanks, rosacea) even pinker than usual. I applied it to one cheek and left the other one bare and there was no difference in the finished look or staying power of either side. Some of the ingredients are glycerin, aloe, hyaluronic acid, and fragrance.

Bodyography Eye Pencil ($11, full sized) This eye liner pencil is just too pencil-like for my tastes. It reminds me of pencils you might use for coloring with, and I felt like it was harder to apply than all of the other pencil liners I have in my collection. It smudged easily, that’s a plus, but I need to get it on my eyes first without having it tug my lids, and it didn’t do that easily.

Pinklipps Glass Lip Gloss in Crystal’d Pink ($12, full sized) The ingredients listed at this brand’s website and at Ipsy are different so I’m not sure which is correct. This is a shimmery sheer pink lip gloss that doesn’t really have much color. I think it’s supposed to be vanilla scented but you can smell the chemicals so it didn’t do a good job of masking those unpleasant scents. It felt fine on my lips but I can’t get over the scent.

Overall it was an ok month for me. Three of the items were full sized but those are the three items I won’t be using again. I liked the eye cream and of course I can always use a fresh container of mascara. The bag was cute if you don’t mind carrying a Halloween-themed bag around after October ends. Maybe the whole point is to use a different bag every month, although I tend to use a bag for a long time and gift the bags that aren’t quite my style (my daughter volunteers at a group home for young women and fills them with health supplies and beauty items). The value for my items this month was around $59.
