Dermy Doc Box sends a box filled with dermatologist-approved products every quarter. The Fall 2023 box focused on exfoliation and moisturizing, two areas which I always need help with when the weather gets cooler. There were six items total, including pimple patches, peeling pads, and a body scrub. Read my review below and learn more about the products that were sent this season!

DEAL: Get $5 off your first box! Use coupon code HELLODERMY.

PanOxyl Overnight Spot Treatment Patches ($8.09) I have no need for these patches so I am going to give them to my daughter, she loves this kind of product! These are clear dots that are made of hydrocolloid and you place them on a pimple before bed and it’s supposed to draw out the pus overnight. There are two different sizes and 40 of them total.

Dove Crushed Macadamia & Rice Milk Exfoliating Body Polish ($6.99) Despite having “crushed macadamia” in the name, this body cleanser gets its scrubbiness from hydrated silica. It’s a mildly abrasive scrub meant to be used in the shower on wet skin. It is highly fragranced and the scent smells of toasted nuts, coconut, and something floral and also milky. It’s too strong for my nose and I noticed the scent stayed on my skin for a while after I got out of the shower. It doesn’t leave behind a creamy coat on skin and can be used a few times a week.

Necessaire The Body Serum ($45) We have serums for our faces, why not a serum for our bodies? This non-scented gel has five different weights of hyaluronic acid to reach different depths in the skin. It’s supposed to moisturize and plump up skin. You can apply it alone or cover with your usual moisturizer after it dries. It left a slightly sticky feeling on my hands but my body didn’t feel sticky, and while I skipped my usual moisturizer, I noticed my skin looked dry later that day. I think I would mix it with moisturizer as directed on the container for an extra boost of hydration.

CeraVe PM Facial Moisturizing Lotion ($10) This is my usual nighttime moisturizer, so I’m happy to now have a new bottle as I’m almost out! My dermatologist suggested this brand for my sensitive skin and she likes that it has ceramides. It’s meant for normal to oily skin so I may need to start looking for something oilier for my dry skin, but then again, my skin seems to look good right now. There’s no scent and it doesn’t leave my skin feeling oily. This is designated for use in the evening and this brand has a daytime version with SPF.

Joaquina Botanica Papaya + Enzymes Whipped Cleanser ($45) I’m always happy to receive skincare with no added parfum/fragrance, and this was gentle yet it also removed all of my makeup (I didn’t use it on my eyes). It creates a creamy foam and it didn’t leave my skin feeling dry or irritated afterwards. It has a fruity scent thanks to fruit extracts. It also has glycerin, aloe, and sunflower seed oil.

BeautyStat Triple Action Peel Pads ($29) Inside this box are 10 individually wrapped wipes that are soaked with ingredients to exfoliate and brighten the skin. It includes lactic acid, salicylic acid, niacinamide, and glycerin. The second ingredient is alcohol and while it didn’t burn my skin, the fumes reached my lungs and made me cough. I wiped it on (which should take about 20 seconds) and that’s it. Toss the wipe and follow with your next skincare step.

The weather just cooled off here in my part of Texas and I’m feeling it already, my skin is so itchy and dry. I’m prepared to fight back with a body serum and scrub, facial peeling pads and moisturizer, and a gentle but effective cleanser. I was thrilled to receive my favorite nighttime moisturizer, my dermatologist would approve. I’m going to mix the serum into my usual body moisturizer and see if that can reduce the itchiness that always accompanies the first few cold fronts. I’ve already passed on the acne patches to my daughter, who was thrilled to receive them, and the cleanser and body scrubs are solid every day type of items. The value for this season’s box was around $144!

Here’s an opening picture. I placed the dissolvable packing peanuts in my compost pile.
