The Ipsy Glam Bag theme for September 2023 was Find Your Groove! I received a bag and five beauty products including an eye cream, setting spray, and more. Some of this month’s featured brands were chosen in honor of Hispanic Heritage Month and most of the products I received worked very well for me and will be used often. Read on to see all of my beauty items!

Note: Ipsy sends many variations, so the bag I’m reviewing may not match everyone else’s.

Ipsy Glam Bag This month’s bag is made of pleather and I like both the color and design. The inside is lined with pink polyester and the zipper pull is so cute, I’m a huge fan of colorful tassels.

BENEFIT COSMETICS The POREfessional: Super Setter Pore-Minimizing Setting Spray ($7.50) Setting spray isn’t something that I use or need, since at this point in my life my makeup tends to stay on my face without sliding off. This spray has a fine mist but I noticed that there was a fat drop that kept landing in the middle of my target area, and it has a floral scent that smells like cucumbers and flowers.

LAVIDO Thera Intensive Clarifying Gel Wash ($3.63) This gel face wash is meant for those who have oily or combination skin but I gave it a try and was pleased to see it had no added parfum. It lathered up nicely and I didn’t feel like my skin was overly dry afterwards, and it rinsed away cleanly. The scent is one I’ve smelled before and I’m not that crazy about it but it was a good cleanser and the added salicylic acid should help fight blemishes.

KOPARI BEAUTY Niacinamide and Caffeine Eye Bright Cream ($12) I like to try eye creams but I don’t feel like they perform the miracles they seem to claim. This one is supposed to fade dark circles and tighten the undereye area while providing a refreshing feel to that often overlooked area. Some of the beneficial ingredients are hyaluronic acid, glycerin, cacao seed oil, and coconut oil, but this product doesn’t feel greasy, while I would have preferred more slip. It’s a non-fragranced cream that disappears almost as soon as it’s applied.

Beauty For Real Liquid Eyeshadow in Moondance ($24) This is a liquid shimmery shadow that you swipe onto your lid, wait for it to dry, and then add something else in the crease if you like. I thought the color was perfect for my wants, it felt cool as it dried, and it stayed in place all day long. The color is described as pearly beige and it’s swatched below.

Shaina B Miami Lip Gloss in Besitos ($18 for full size) This deluxe sample has plenty of gloss that will surely last for several months. It’s shiny without that frosted glitter effect and it felt good, not super sticky, and lasted for a couple of hours. Swatched below.

Swatched on top is the Shaina B lip gloss in Besitos and on the bottom is the Beauty For Real liquid eyeshadow in Moondance.

I liked this month’s bag and products from Ipsy! While this bag is sent for review and isn’t picked with my beauty needs in mind, for the most part the items seemed almost universal. I’m not a fan of setting sprays so that will be shared but even the cleanser for oily skin worked well for my dry skin. I could use an oilier eye cream but the lip gloss and eye shadow were items I will reach for often, especially as we transition from super high heat to slightly cooler days here in Austin. I still want to wear gloss rather than heavy lipstick, and the shadow works with almost all of my other colors as a base. The value for my products was at least $50, I couldn’t find a value for the lip gloss but it would surely put this bag over the mark.
