Icon Box is the latest box from Ipsy and it replaces the previous Glam Bag X and BoxyCharm Luxe. It’s a quarterly upgrade and comes with 8 full-sized products worth up to $350. Members get to choose three of their items from a few different options and this upgrade replaces your usual monthly bag for an additional cost. This season, the box was curated by Vanessa Hudgens and the theme was Return to the Wild. I received a leave-in conditioner that smells amazing, a relaxing body spray, and more, including makeup. Check out what I received below!

Amika The Kure Multi-Task Repair Treatment ($30) My daughter was watching as I opened this box and she oohed and ahhed over this product so it will be going to her. I try to avoid scented products as much as possible, which is a shame because Amika smells AMAZING and I used to have some of their other products, like that wonderful Soulfood deep conditioner. This product is supposed to prevent damage and strengthen hair and it can be rinsed out or left in, it’s up to you. I did try it out, by squirting just a bit into my hands and then spreading it onto the ends of my hair (and I used a lot less than the models demonstrated on the brand’s website) and it left my hair easy to comb. I styled as usual and it looked good all day long. Oh, I wish I could keep it for the scent alone but I know it will have a good home with my daughter.

Alo Glow System Magnesium Reset Spray ($48) I love it when I get products for the body, which is where this spray is meant to be used. Magnesium is supposed to help relax the muscles and that is the second ingredient, after water. It also has some essential oils, plant oils, and arnica. You spritz your body up to three times in order to receive 45mg of magnesium. Once again, this is a product meant for the body, not a face, it isn’t a toner. The scent is very light and fades super quickly, but I like it, it calls to the hippie in me.

Joanna Vargas Magic Serum ($85) Seriously, an $85 product in a plastic container? Anyways, this is a milky serum that dried down to a non-sticky finish, and it gets bonus points for having no parfum or essential oils, and therefore no scent. It’s supposed to soothe and strengthen the skin and improve radiance. You can apply it two times a day and follow with moisturizer.

SLMissGlam Trio Sponge Set ($36) I think I have a drawer full of sponges I’ve received in beauty boxes. They’re something I reach for rarely, although they are helpful for cleaning up smudges and for spreading liquid products. Please note that the $36 set we’ve linked to includes a holder, which wasn’t in the box, there’s not even a space for it that I can tell. These are each shaped slightly differently from each other for hitting all of those nooks and crannies.

Huda Beauty Legit Lashes Double Ended Mascara ($31) All I really expect of a mascara is for it to make my lashes show up, and this one did the job. One side is supposed to add volume and the other is supposed to curl and lengthen. I tried one end on one side, then the other end on the other side, and they looked exactly the same as each other. Then I applied a second coat, switching sides so I had volume/curl & lengthen, and curl & lengthen/volume, and again, there was no difference in the sides. It worked like any other mascara I’ve tried, except the applicator was kind of odd to use.

Lawless Forget The Filler Lip-Plumping Gloss ($26) I received the shade Rosy Outlook, which is described as sheer baby pink. It has a light, sweet flavor, maybe vanilla berry? It didn’t sting my lips but I did feel something, an extra bit of warmth perhaps. It is traditional sort-of-sticky gloss, I don’t think I’d wear it on a windy day, but it did feel smooth on my lips. I think the plumping is more of the “my lips are glossy and pouty” and not “ouch something burned my lips”.

Wander Beauty Skyliner Duo ($32) I was excited to get TWO liners, one brown and one black, and they aren’t liquid so I consider it a big win! I used the brown one first, and I think it could have gone on a bit smoother, it tugged a little as I applied it (and it’s hot here so I can’t blame the weather). The black one went on so nicely that it went immediately into my makeup bag as I packed for vacation. I didn’t have to take a sharpener, it was easy to twist to get it to advance, and I didn’t need to pack a smudge brush, it just went on the way I wanted it to and then stayed. Swatched below.

Toy Factory Sunset Squalene Blush Palette ($40) This is a mostly pink blush set, except for the second color, Pasha. The pans are kind of hard to access with a big blush brush, so if you have a compact one then that would work best so you get just one color at a time. Otherwise, it is easy to apply and blend, a classic powder. Swatched below.

Swatched on top are the eyeliners, and the blush palette is underneath. I liked the colors, there’s a little bit of everything so I can wear warm or cool.

I was pretty pleased with my August Ipsy ICON Box! I love amika products but can’t wear it myself, but my daughter was thrilled to take it off my hands. I was happy with my new blush and especially my new eyeliners. The relaxing mist smelled good to me, like some kind of happy hippie health store product. The rest of the items were good but maybe are not things I reach for very often, like the sponges. Please keep in mind that members get to pick some of their items but I received a box for review with all of the choices made for me and I’m not disappointed at all. The value for my box combo was around $328!

Below is the card that came in the box!
