South Korea is well known for K-pop and K-dramas, but they have more to offer – like their local snacks! This month, Universal Yums featured delicious South Korean goodies, including candies, chocolates, and chips. Since we’re reviewing the Yum Yum box, there were a total of ten snacks in the box. They showcase flavors that are well-loved by locals, and some of them even feature a new twist to classic Korean snacks!

Let’s start with the Korean candies! First up is Crown Sweet & Sour Chewy Candy in grape flavor. It looks like a whole candy bar, but there are actually smaller-sized fruit-flavored chews inside, which makes them great for sharing. The chews were soft and not too sticky, plus the flavor is quite refreshing! I am a huge sour candy fan, so I was excited to try these and they ended up being my favorite item from this box.

These Crown Peach Flavored Gummies are said to be a favorite spring treat in Korea. They are so delicious though, that you would love to eat them year-round! Each gummy is shaped like a peach, and when you bite into it, you’ll get a burst of sweetness in your mouth.

If you like seafood snacks, these Cosmos Shrimp Chips are right up your alley! They are crunchy and fluffy chips, which are made with real shrimp from the shores of South Korea. The shrimp flavor is just so addictive, you’ll crave more after finishing the bag!

Although churros originate from Spain, they are a well-loved snack in South Korea! They are sold in street stalls and there are also churros snacks you can buy in convenience stores like this bag of Cinnamon Sugar Churros. I love how sweet and crunchy these are. Also, they definitely didn’t skimp on the cinnamon!

Next up is the Cosmos Spicy Chicken Flavor Corn Puffs, which is inspired by the glazed fried chicken that is popular among Koreans! These delicious corn puffs taste like chicken and it’s amazing that they don’t contain any chicken at all. The flavor is really good! Each piece was crunchy, and packs a punch too.

The name Couque D’asse sounds French but this snack is from South Korea! These are shortbread cookies filled with mascarpone cheese and soft milk cream. They pair well with coffee and other hot beverages.

Of course, a South Korean-themed snack box is not complete without a choco pie. This time, we’re trying a new flavor, the Black Sugar Milk Tea Choco Pie. Inspired by the popular drink from Taiwan, this choco pie version has definitely got the milk tea taste in its gooey, marshmallow filling. It makes the perfect dessert after a savory meal.

Another Korean snack staple is Pepero! We have the White Cookie Pepero in our box, which are cookie sticks coated with white chocolate and chocolate cookie crumbs. We can’t get enough of this snack because it’s tasty and convenient!

Similar to the choco pie, the Mongshell Cream Cake features a moist cake with white cream in the middle and a premium chocolate coating. Each bite melts in your mouth, and it’s really sweet!

This entire box was a treat for my adventurous taste buds. The snacks came all the way from South Korea, and the selection included such delicious flavors – from grape and peaches to shrimp, chicken, and more! They even introduced a new choco pie flavor, which I really loved. The milk tea flavor definitely enhanced the already tasty filling of the quintessential Korean snack. Overall, I really enjoyed this month’s Universal Yums box! The snacks are popular among locals for a reason, and I’m happy I was able to try them out.
