Chic Beauty Box is a monthly treat for beauty junkies and a fun way to discover new items from both popular and niche brands! For July/August 2022, the curation included make-up from Covergirl, NARS, Revlon, and more. Scroll down and learn more about what they’ve put together for subscribers this time around!

Covergirl Ascension Eyeshadow Palette ($9) I’m in need of a new eyeshadow palette — they’re so easy to travel with! — and this one is a lovely mix of colors and neutrals in a variety of finishes. Covergirl is cruelty-free!

I’m especially drawn to that light purple, but there are some great light shades for all over looks.

Milk Makeup Holographic Stick ($30) Milk is famous for its long-lasting cream stick formula, but this one caught me off guard as it’s a glitter stick. I’m not sure I have many occasions requiring glitter so I didn’t keep this one for myself. Based on my experiences with other Milk products like their rainbow highlighters, I can assume this is the same nice non-greasy formulation. They are also quite pigmented so a little goes a long way! Milk is cruelty-free!

Hourglass Unlocked Instant Lash Extension Mascara ($29) SO excited for this in my box — Hourglass is cruelty-free and has a great range of products that are normally a bit out of my budget. So this was a really great treat for me to try! The Unlocked formula adds length without clumping and is a nice true black.

Revlon Brow Tint ($11) A precise tip liquid brow pen. It is fully waterproof so this is great for the beach. Revlon isn’t cruelty-free.

NARS Sunkissed Bronzer Cream ($38) I had some trouble finding this exact product but it looks like it has been since reformulated and replaced with the Cream Bronzer. Whereas the new version has multiple shade ranges, the OG has just one — Laguna, which is NARS’ most popular powder bronzer shade. NARS is not cruelty-free.

Swatches of the brow pen between a few of my favorite shades from the eyeshadow palette.

This box was a decent mix of high end and drugstore, of cruelty-free and not cruelty-free. I found some things I loved and some things to pass on — always a risk with any subscription box. Chic Beauty Box does occasionally include items with are discontinued, so it’s important to check and determine whether it’s safe to use.

The information card breaks down the items you may find in your box – there are now different variations! My box actually had an item from II instead for some extra value.

Chic Beauty Box is a bi-monthly subscription box that delivers high-end and low-end cosmetics to your door. They feature imagery of brands like NARS and MAC as well as Too Faced, Fenty Beauty, and Milani. The box is $34.99 CAD and you can also try a one-time box for $39.99.
