My box looked ready for summer with umbrellas, a pool, and floaties all over. The items inside were cushioned with paper, which can go into my recycle bin.

This box is packed full of goodies, as it is every season. All items came in their original packaging.

The box also includes discount cards! They are from Nurish and Hello Fresh!

I also received some hydration packets and a card, which included a code to be redeemed at Bright Cellars.

A sticker sheet will add some cheer to my planner. Here comes summer!

As usual, they sent us a large-format mini-magazine.

The first page has a message from co-founder and editor-in-chief Katie Echevarria Rosen Kitchens!

The magazine provides all the details on the products, plus fun lifestyle articles (see all the lifestyle articles at the bottom of the review). There are a lot of box variations!

Each item listed has the name and tells which customization category it is from. They have everything from makeup to skincare and other essentials a woman needs!

Variations of these can be in your box but not all of them. There are 3 pages of items listed that cover every variation in the box.

Everything in my FabFitFun VIP Box for Summer 2021! There are lots of item variations that are detailed below.

I have an annual subscription so I was able to make a few extra choices than a seasonal subscriber.

Customization 1

Subscribers will get to choose among the following:

I picked Society6 Wine Chiller!

Society6 Wine Chiller ($59.99) I couldn’t find this particular print on the brand’s website, there are tons to choose from, but they are all running about $41.99 on sale.

The instructions say to place in the freezer if I think about it, otherwise just add ice cubes and a bottle of wine and that should keep it chilled for about 2 hours.

The chiller is made of dishwasher-safe stainless steel and the artwork wraps all the way around. It’s about 7.5″ tall.

Subscribers will get to choose among the following:

I chose Business & Pleasure Co. Cooler Bag!

Business & Pleasure Co. Holiday Cooler Bag ($69) A sunny yellow cooler bag covered in “beach umbrella” canvas is a sweet way to get drinks or a picnic to your destination in style. The bag measures 12.5” x 8” x 6.5” and holds a little over 3.5 gallons.

It has a snap-close handle on top along with carrying straps. It has a longer shoulder strap too in case your hands are full.

The shoulder strap has a cushion for comfort and there is a little pocket in the front of the bag.

The inside is lined with recycled PVC and can be wiped clean after use.

Here we have the strap extended as much as possible and it hits at about the waist on my 5’2″ daughter.

We actually received one of these last year and loved it so much we had to get another one! One will go with my oldest to her new apartment, and the other will stay in my home for impromptu picnics.

Unfortunately, this bag was pulled from boxes this quarter due to some quality issues. Subscribers will receive a replacement item and a $25 credit.

Customization 3

Subscribers will get to choose among the following:

I chose ____!

Oops! There was a mistake and I received zero items from Customization 3 and instead I got two items from Customization 5!

Customization 4

Subscribers will get to choose among the following:

I picked the African Botanics Shimmering Gold Oil!

African Botanics Shimmering Gold Oil ($64 value) Wow, this is a pricey product! It’s a shimmering oil that can be applied to the body, face, or hair to add lots of shine at a time when more body parts are on display!

The product comes from South Africa and has marula oil (for its antioxidants), baobab oil (which contains lots of vitamins), and Kalahari melon (has vitamin E and fights wrinkles). Fractionated coconut oil is the first ingredient (fractionated means it should remain in a liquid form while at room temp) and mica provides the shimmer. Apply wherever you want to glow, keeping in mind that just a bit should be used on the face, like applying a highlighter. It smells warm and tropical in nature, with a hint of a classic floral powdered perfumed scent.

Customization 5

Annual Subscribers will get to choose among these items (and FFF will pick for everyone else):

I chose MineTan Body Skin Recovery After Sun Gel & also received dr. brandt pores no more Purifying Cleanser!

MineTan Body Skin Recovery After Sun Gel ($32.95) After last year’s summer, where my body never went into a bathing suit, I plan on making up for lost time. I worry that I am going to get some redness no matter how often I apply SPF, so I will have this gel at the ready.

Water, glycerin, and aloe are the first three ingredients, which are classics for after-sun care. Niacinamide is a popular ingredient that may help relieve redness. I wasn’t too excited to see alcohol in 5th place but it does provide a cooling feeling thanks to evaporation. On second thought, I may skip using this on red skin but will use it on hot afternoons to help cool me off. The product is non-sticky and has a light, slightly fruity fragrance.

dr. brandt pores no more Purifying Cleanser ($36) When I see the words “pore purifying” it makes me think that scrubby bits will be involved so I was shocked to find that this was a creamy cleanser.

It’s meant for oily or combination skin, so it sounds perfect for my teenager! It’s supposed to remove makeup and dissolve oil to leave pores looking, well, less like pores I guess. It has salicylic acid to gently dissolve dead skin cells and tea tree oil, which is considered an antiseptic, fighting off germs. I used this in the morning (no makeup on, since I thought it would be scrubby!) and it didn’t irritate my skin. It doesn’t have parfum, thank goodness, but the smell kind of reminds me of dirt. I have a salicylic acid shampoo that I use once a week and it smells exactly the same so I’m guessing that is where the scent comes from, SA.

Customization 6

Annual Subscribers will get to choose a 1-, 2-, or 3-item bundle (and FFF will pick for everyone else):

[bundles as shown above – retail prices for individual products in the bundles below!]

  • Eyeko Double Act Shadow Stick in Cookies & Cream ($55)
  • Barefoot Scientist Pedicure File ($55)
  • Seraphine Botanicals Fruit Butter Lip Mask ($25)
  • Beautaniq Beauty Eye Gels ($49)
  • Erno Laszlo Pore Cleansing Clay Mask ($76)
  • LashesMD Eyelash Conditioner ($69.95)
  • Murad Rapid Collagen Infusion ($78)
  • OLEHENRIKSEN PHAT Glow Facial Mask ($50)
  • Verso Botanicals Super Eye Serum ($65)

I received the bundle that came with an ice tray, lip mask, and citrus juicer!

Seraphine Botanicals Fruit Butter Lip Mask ($25) An overnight lip mask should help me wake up with a soft kisser!

Shea butter, olive oil, and apricot kernel oil are a few of the softening ingredients in here. I gave the container a good massage before using because it seemed kind of oily but I think that’s just the texture. I had to squeeze out a bigger blob to get to the pink product inside. It coated my lips and left them oily and soft and the flavor is tropical with a hint of nuts or maybe coconut.

Blush Pineapple Ice Tray I found similar ice cube trays on Amazon but they were all larger than this one, which makes 9 pineapple-shaped cubes total. It will also make 9 pineapple-shaped jello shots, candies, or other treats. Wash before using and according to the tag it is dishwasher safe.

Ar+Cook Citrus Squeezer I have never encountered a plastic citrus juicer before!

I usually cut my citrus pieces into quarters before juicing, especially grapefruits. I use citrus juices in cooking all the time and this will get a lot of use!

I am ready for summer thanks to my seasonal box from FabFitFun! I was happy with my choices and even went with a couple of items that I could share with my family and friends — I like to keep a couple of surprise gifts on hand just in case. One of my favorite items from the box is the beach-stripe tote bag, it is so useful for carrying just enough picnic items for a couple of people. The shimmer oil adds some sheen to my body but without looking glittery and I like the scent. The gel will help me cool off on those hot summer days that we have here in Texas for months on end. I’m not sure why I received a second item from one category and no item from another, maybe they needed to make a substitution, but I can’t be sad about receiving a dr. brandt product! My box had a value of around $268.94, not including the last two items, and your value may be above or below that based on your picks, but that’s amazing for the price paid for the box!
