This is a review of the Premium box!

This month’s box has a Christmas themed design.

Even the interior of the box has cute doodles!

As always, there are LOTS of snacks in this box!

The box also includes an information booklet!

Featured in this part of the booklet is Sugoi Mart. They gave us a $3 off coupon code which we can use on orders $15 and up!

The booklet also features selfies of subscribers with their Japan Crate.

Inside the booklet is a chart of contents that lists all the snacks from three different box sizes. There are 3 different subscription levels available: The Mini includes 5 items, the Original includes those items PLUS another 5 items, and the Premium includes those 10 items PLUS another 5 items.

This month, subscribers will get a bonus item: KitKat Sparkling Wine with Strawberry. There are also info about festivals held in Japan during January and some Japanese vocabulary words.

Everything in my January 2021 box!

Cheese Musho. It’s a pack of chips bursting with mozzarella cheese flavor and a hint of lemon. They also contain parsley that enhances the richness of the cheese. They are also crunchy and tastier than regular sour cream chips.

Mike Popcorn Kanefuku Mentaiko Flavor. This savory popcorn has a slightly spicy flavor that I love! The flavor is inspired by mentaiko, a Japanese seafood.

Fuku Fuku Tai. They also included a fish shaped wafer with air bubble chocolate in the middle. This is a limited edition snack offered to bring good luck this New Year.

KitKat Sparkling Wine with Strawberry. This month’s bonus item is this pack of KitKat with a unique blend of sparkling wine and strawberry flavors. They are packed individually for single consumption. As always, the wafers were sweet and crunchy, while the white chocolate is tart and sweet at the same time.

Chocolate Elise Amao Strawberry. Each of these tasty wafers contain a sweet cream filling. They are also covered with strawberry chocolate that make them such a delight to munch on. The snacks are wrapped separately, making them ideal for sharing.

Umaidama Chocolate Puff. This pack contains 4 bite sized cream puffs with a chocolate filling. It makes a nice on-the-go snack or a pair with a hot beverage for a filling afternoon snack!

Mocchan Dango. Here’s a pack of chewy mochi, which are traditional Japanese rice cakes often consumed as a dessert. They are covered with sugar, making each bite sweeter!

Triangle Shape Cracker Vegetable Flavor. These triangle-shaped crackers are vegetable flavored. They are crispy which makes them an enjoyable treat anytime of the day. I liked that they weren’t too salty!

Awadama Candy Apple Flavor. For fans of hard candy, here’s one that features the sweet and fruity flavors of a red apple. It was such a great picker-upper because of its rich taste!

Pop Pop Bakudan Candy. This unique candy is composed of crystal like pieces that instantly pop and crackle when you put it on your mouth!

Slot Chocolate. This yummy chocolate comes with a fun lottery game. With each piece, you get a chance to receive a golden ticket! It’s popular among kids in Japan because a golden ticket can be exchanged for more candies at a candy shop.

Cola Ball. Here’s a small jelly bursting with a refreshing cola flavor. It was soft and chewy as well!

Crayon Shin-Chan Color Ramune. Crayon Shin Chan is a popular anime in Japan. This pack of candies feature the titular character and it’s so cute! The candies are also good because they’re infused with ramune (Japanese carbonated soft drink) flavor. The pieces are dispensed through an opening at the back of the box. This feature added more fun to this treat!

Mochi Pudding. These bite-sized snacks are chewy rice cakes filled with a delicious custard cream pudding. They are soft, chewy, sweet, and also filling!

Super Sour Lemon. Here’s something for people who love lemon! It’s a pack of chewable candies and they give a burst of fruity and sour flavors in every chew.

Candemina Gummy Grape Soda. Here’s another pack of sour treats and this time, they are gummies in grape soda flavor! Each piece is soft and also shaped like a grape. They are so sour, they make my face twitch whenever I take a bite!

Animal Soft Candy DIY. My family and I love the DIY candies from this box! This month, the DIY candy pack includes ingredients for making an animal-shaped soft candy. First, you need to fill the mold using the yellow dough (lemon) and pink dough (strawberry). Then, place the stick in the middle, fit the front and back mold together, remove the mold carefully, and enjoy your delicious candy!

Iron Boss. It’s a canned carbonated drink packed with GABA, an ingredient that is known to be a natural relaxant. It tastes similar to regular energy drink but it contains higher amount of Arginine compared to Red Bull.

It’s another box filled with delicious snacks from Japan! This month’s box is New Year themed, so they threw in some snacks that are considered to bring luck, like the fish-shaped wafer and the rice cakes. There are also several strawberry flavored snacks, plus sour candies and gummies! As always, there’s a DIY soft candy kit which my family and I enjoyed making. With the great variety of authentic Japanese snacks they send, Japan Crate makes an ideal subscription for any Japan fan or adventurous snacker. It’s also a good way to discover the best Japanese snacks that are hard to find in the US!
