Ipsy Glam Bag Ultimate is a super-upgraded version of Ipsy’s monthly glam bag! The Glam Bag Ultimate is $50 per month, and will have 12 products: 8 full-size and 4 deluxe samples, plus a makeup bag every month. Ipsy promises a value of $250+ each month.

See our Ipsy Glam Bag Ultimate explainer for all the details on how this subscription works!

My items were cushioned with egg crate foam. Everything arrived in perfect condition! Some of the items came in their original boxes. So much stuff to play with!

I received a brochure from Ipsy. The theme for September is Good Vibes!

On the inside I found a brief description of every item, MSRP, and a tip, along with IPSY HQ’s review. You can find info on all of your Ipsy products, including ingredients, under your account on the Ipsy website or app.

The back of the card had a few tips and reminders for subscribers.

Here’s everything in our box this month!

Ipsy Glambag Ultimate Bag The bag this month is in autumnal shades of burgundy and gold. The material is chenille corduroy. The front has a wide stripe in burgundy down the middle.

The back is pure gold.

The zipper pull is pleather and says IPSY. The zipper is gold toned.

The inside is lined with burgundy polyester material. The bag is about 9.5″ x 6.5″.

Goldfaden MD Brightening Elixir Protect + Repair Brightening Serum (Full size, $80) First item up pays for the box and then some! It’s a liquid gel that is supposed to help boost skin after environmental exposure (to the sun), firm skin, make flaws less noticeable, and boost moisture. It has niacinamide and hyaluronic acid plus a few vitamins and ferulic acid. It is watery and disappeared into my skin immediately, leaving no residue or tackiness.

Hello Ganic One A Day Sheet Mask Set (Full size, $7.50) Ooh, I received three sheet masks that I can choose from depending on my skin’s needs on any given day.

Ingredients were on the back and they did seem more natural than the usual masks, however, they all ended with “parfum”, which can make sensitive types have a reaction. The Water Mask is of course hydrating and cooling; the Grain Mask is meant to control oil while soothing sensitive skin; and the Fruits Mask is supposed to brighten dull or lackluster skin. Place on clean skin and relax for 15 minutes. Remove the mask and pat any remaining serum into skin.

Kensie Life Beat Body Lotion (Sample size, $2.70) I received another lotion from this perfume brand a few months back and loved it, so I was confused because this one smells extremely similar! Citrus, peach, and woody notes make up this scent and it sticks around for an hour or so, but in a polite sniff your skin kind of way, before fading. The lotion is a good consistency for this time of year, not too heavy or light, just right.

NatureLab Tokyo Perfect Repair Travel Set (Full size, $9) I think it’s great that I not only get to try out this brand’s shampoo, but their coordinating conditioner and treatment mask too!

I really liked the shampoo, it lathered well and smelled good. The conditioner removed the tangles and the mask left my hair silky soft but not weighed down. The scent for all three products is “inspired by Japanese bamboo forests with a hint of green tea and cypress” and was strong while in use but faded soon after rinsing and drying my hair.

L.O.C.K. Color Unicorn Hydrating Primer (Sample size, $4) A primer can help keep makeup in place all day but this one has the added benefit of hyaluronic acid to keep skin moist. It also has dimethicone and felt silky going on. It is rather fragranced though, and I could still smell the floral scent long after I applied the rest of my makeup.

Moda Brush Neon Angle Contour/Blush Brush (Full size, $19.99) I was confused when I saw this in my bag reveal, because I just received it last month in my regular Ipsy Glam Bag, and dupes aren’t supposed to happen. Before I could follow up Ipsy sent me an email saying “oops” and credited my account with some points (since I can’t review it twice and would therefore lose out on some points). Here’s what I said just last month about this brush: “I couldn’t find this brush for sale anywhere, but I discovered that it is made by Royal & Langnickel, and that they also make art brushes! I found a similar brush by the same brand for much lower, only $7.99, and it can be found here.

“The bristles are synthetic and I like the bright blue color of the handle, plus the tops of the bristles are blue too! The brush can be used to apply highlight, blush, or contour and Ipsy suggests using it to set under eye makeup. The bristles are very soft and I preferred using it for contour, because I need a light hand when it comes to that product and this brush worked well for me because it isn’t dense.”

Doucce Freematic Blush Mono in Daydream (Sample size, $14) The Freematic System is a way to create your own personalized palette using an empty Freematic case and then mixing and matching eyeshadows, blushes, highlighter, bronzer, and brow powder. This is a single blush that can go into a case if you already have one, or you can order one on the brand’s website. I received a Freematic palette from Ipsy back in June so I could remove two of those eyeshadows to make room for this blush!

The shade is called Daydream and works well for my skin color. It’s slightly darker than shown in this picture (and swatched below) but I think it’s a good neutral shade and works well with the shadow palette I received this month. It’s blendable and buildable.

Julep Cushion Complexion Concealer in Ivory (Full size, $16) Wow, I didn’t realize Julep was still around, they used to have a subscription box with beautiful nail polishes, and so I’m happy to see they are still making beauty products!

It has a spongy tip applicator and I had to twist the bottom of the case a lot before any product came out.

Dot on under the eyes or wherever you want to do a little makeup magic and then pat or blend gently with your finger to camouflage imperfections. Swatched below.

La Muse Deep Color Lipbalm in Cherry (Full size, $28 listed value; get a set of six for $24.99 from Costco) I was thinking this was some expensive lip balm but Costco has it for a bargain!

I like the color and formula, and it’s from Korea, so my K-Pop loving daughter would probably love this too. The case is nice, maybe it’s brushed aluminum, but the part that is shown covering the lipstick isn’t secured, so I have to swivel the plastic up to use. Swatched below.

Pixi by Petra Endless Silky Eye Pen Duo Black (Full size, $12 each) I like Pixi products and to see two eye liners, that are not liquid pens, and that aren’t black, just sent me over the moon!

I received Black Caviar (which is the darker brown) and Bronze Beam. Silky is correct, these glide on like butter. My favorite was Black Caviar, it works well with the palette I received, and will be in heavy rotation this fall. Bronze Beam seemed to fade faster so that eventually it looked like I hadn’t lined my eyes.

Swatched from top: Julep concealer, Muse lip balm, Black Caviar liner, Bronze Beam liner, and Doucce blush. The tip of the Bronze Beam liner broke off when swatching, I think it must be softer in texture than Black Caviar.

Zoeva Cocoa Blend Eyeshadow Palette (Full size, $28) Oohh, a palette inspired by chocolate! Let’s dig in!

It’s kind of hard to read here, but luckily Ipsy has all of the ingredients listed on their website.

These are such pretty shades, and perfect for autumn!

There are mattes and shimmery finishes, so I can create a variety of looks depending on my mood. The colors blended well and stayed on all day. The shimmery shades had a lot of fall out, and it was hard to wipe up, so I had sparkly eyes all around!

Here is a swatch of the top row, with the first color on top barely visible.

Here’s the second row. This palette will last a while, the pans seem pretty big.

Context Nail Polish Duo (Full size, $30) I received a two-pack of nail colors! I couldn’t find them packed together like this but they are $15 each on the brand’s website and you can pick whichever two shades speak to you.

These are 5-free, vegan, and cruelty-free.

Don’t Cry is described as a plum rose shade and is non-shimmery.

Rocket Queen is gold metallic and has a glittery finish. I rarely polish my fingernails but love to paint my toes and so I can’t wait to try these out. I think they are good shades for this time of year, since it’s still sandal season in my neck of the woods but then the glittery gold will work for the upcoming winter holidays too!

I am having fun trying the items I received in my September Ipsy Glam Bag Ultimate! Once again I felt like they sent a good assortment, it hit a variety of beauty categories. I found haircare, skin care, a body lotion, nail polish, makeup, and an applicator brush. Plus the bag was so cute, I love the colors and fabric, the overall fall-ness of it. The value for my assortment was around $263.19, well over the price paid for the subscription!
