Herb Stop is a locally owned small business out of Pine, Arizona that offers the AromaBox, a monthly essential oils subscription box. Master Herbalists Leilah Breitler and Natalie Hajdu curate their oils to a theme and all of their essential oils are 100% pure, although some of the more precious oils are thinned with jojoba oil.

AromaBox is $24.95 a month and that includes shipping, plus you can choose to receive this box once a quarter. You will receive 4 bottles of oils – 3 single essential oils (1/6 oz each) and 1 roll-on essential oil blend ready for use. Along with your oils, you will receive a flyer with details on each oil, 3 tips on using each oil, and safety information.

The Herb Stop insists that all ingredients must come from reliable and ethical sources. Leilah and Natalie believe that quality and high standards are essential to create life-enhancing herbal products that are unmatched.

DEAL: Save 15% on your first box with coupon code HELLO15.

FYI – AromaBox is always available through the end of the month, plus you can purchase previous boxes on their website!

I received two cards in my box, one for the business and one with their social media sites.

A third card says I can learn from the owners!

If you are interested in an in-depth course on herbalism then here is a course you can sign up to take.

The theme for September’s box was Earth Tones. If that includes oils that smell like fall then bring it on, I am ready!

The flyer opened up to give more info on each oil. Each oil is described and then it gives you an aromatherapy tip, a tip from Leilah (a Master Herbalist), a tip from Natalie (also a Master Herbalist), and any safety precautions. There is a nice color picture of each herb and the details are easy enough for the newest essential oil enthusiast to understand. I also own an essential oil book that I can refer to but you can always find further uses on Google or Pinterest.

SAFETY NOTE: If you have any health concerns or are pregnant or nursing I would urge you to check with your doctor before using essential oils. The Herb Stop does not endorse the use of essential oils for internal use, unless under the supervision of a qualified practitioner skilled in oral administration of essential oils.

The back of the pamphlet gave info on the featured blend for this month and a recipe for a blend of the three featured oils. It also had a coupon code for their shop.

Everything arrived safely! How can you put your new oils to use? “Essential oils can be added to carrier oils, lotions, salves, soaps, massage oils, bath salts, or used in an aromatherapy diffuser. The options are endless!”

Everything in the box!

Oh Herb Stop, you had me at “patchouli”!

HerbStop Patchouli Essential Oil ($5, buy 10ml for $9.99) Oh patchouli, how do I love thee? Let me count the ways. You are sweet, you are earthy, you ground me to this planet. You make my inner hippie heart so happy.

Each bottle comes with info such as the proper name, whether it is pure or cut with jojoba oil, country of origin, part used, and distillation method.

This oil is unadulterated, so it is pure patchouli. It smells warm, woody, earthy, clean and yet dirty at the same time. It’s said to be an aphrodisiac so it’s dirty in more ways than one!

The bottles come with the euro type of dropper so that you can get the correct amount of drops and not a stream when you pour.

HerbStop Peru Balsam Essential Oil ($4, buy 15ml for $12) Peru balsam is new to me, I’ve never heard of it before!

It is uncut and can be used for diffusing. It is often used as a substitute for vanilla in aromatherapy and has a similar scent. I don’t have vanilla in my collection so I am looking forward to using this twin. It can also be used for skin irritations, but make sure to mix it with a carrier oil such as jojoba.

HerbStop Sandalwood Australian Essential Oil ($49.25 for 5ml of pure oil; this one is cut with jojoba) Sandalwood is an expensive oil, which is why this version is mixed with jojoba oil.

It has a warm scent, woody and rich, and while I’ve smelled scents with it before, I like this better, because it is lacking that cedar closet scent that usually seems to come with the territory.

HerbStop Down To Earth Roll-On Essential Oil Blend ($18.95) According to The Herb Stop this is their #1 top selling blend and I can see why: it smells like autumn! It is also supposed to act as an aphrodisiac and boost confidence.

This wonderful scent is provided by patchouli, clove, cinnamon, and Peru balsam essential oils, which are mixed in a base of jojoba oil.

Just roll over wrists or other pulse points and take a deep breath. It will immediately transport you fireside in a cabin somewhere where there are cinnamon buns baking in an oven nearby while you sip a pumpkin spice latte. It’s got all the fall feels in one bottle. Bliss.

I was blown away by my September AromaBox by The Herb Stop! I love patchouli so right off the bat it was a winner in my eyes. I also added two new scents to my collection, including one I had never heard of before. As for the rollerball, I will be wearing it often throughout the fall, winter, and random other times throughout the year, just to remind me there is an autumn eventually. I tend to use my oils for diffusing but they can be added to unscented lotions, turned into natural perfumes, or there’s lots of other uses, just check out Pinterest for some more ideas!

Great box and review, Deb! I love patchouli as well….I wonder how one becomes a “master herbalist?” Sounds enchanting 🙂

I was wondering that myself Snow! I think it would be a cool job, especially since I’ve always been fascinated by herbs and their medicinal uses, and my interest only increased after I read Outlander!
