The sticker on the box gives us a clue about what country is featured this month!

This time, the sticker says “A place where the hills are alive!”

As always, all the snacks were covered with this month’s featured booklet!

This month, the snacks we received are from Austria!

The box is full to brim!

Included inside the box is a sheet that features the map of Austria, along with a brief description of what each town and island in the country is famous for.

The back of the sheet includes a puzzle activity and a game entitled “Feuer, Wasser, Sturm, Blitz.” There’s also a space for The Official Yum Awards!

Aside from the sheet, we also got an awesome booklet that contains a brief history of the featured country and the snacks inside the box.

They even provided a clue for next month’s box!

This booklet makes the snacking experience even more exciting! It helps us get to know more about Austria, their local culture, and even a bit about their local language.

Another feature on the booklet is a trivia quiz, where it still talks about the featured country!

Each snack comes with a photo and a long description in the booklet!

They even included some trivia or history about the snack and how it might taste!

We loved reading this before taking a bite on this month’s yums!

Of course, we can’t talk about Austria without mentioning the awesome Austrians and The Habsburg Family Tree!

The booklet even included a recipe for Tiroler Gröstl!

Everything in my box!

Kastner Gingerbread. Austrians are known to be fond of gingerbread! The gingerbread they included in our box was soft and tasty, and even contains honey, anise, chocolates, hazelnuts, and almonds. With just the right amount of sweetness, it makes such a delicious afternoon snack especially when paired with coffee or tea.

Paprika Chips. Austrians also have their own version of potato chips, made special by kotanyi paprika flavoring. These chips are cooked using sunflower oil, so it’s way healthier than your common potato snacks. Each piece is so crunchy and very flavorful!

Kelly’s Creamy Onion Mini Fritts. It’s another famous potato snack from Austria, and this time, they’re gently fried until golden brown. They’re also seasoned with appetizing creamy onion flavor. No artificial flavor enhancers or colorants, just pure savory onion taste. It’s lightweight, crunchy, and super tasty!

Schoko-Erdbeeren. This is a dessert-type treat that features a strawberry mousse coated in rich dark chocolate. The flavor combination is such a classic. Each bite melts in the mouth, plus it easily satisfied our sweet tooth cravings!

Pischinger Mandel Ecken. These are square waffles with rich chocolate filling and creamy milk chocolate coating. The crushed roasted almonds added a nice crunch to each piece. It’s a great snack for any chocolate lover!

Kelly’s Snips. Snips is considered to be one of the most favorite snacks in Austria. They’re so common that you can easily see them at almost any party, holiday gathering, or even on movie nights. This puffed corn snack is made tasty by salted peanut flavoring! Each piece is crunchy, airy, and really savory, so once you’ve started popping one in your mouth, you just can’t stop. We now understand why it’s extremely popular!

Vollmich Schokolade. This chocolate bar caused an instant pandemonium among Austrian royals when it was first introduced in the 16th century. They went absolutely nuts over this chocolate! Because of its rich and flavorful velvety flavor, this chocolate is famously dubbed as an inflamer of passions. It’s made from 30% cacao and other premium quality ingredients. Also, it can be divided into four equal pieces which makes it easy to share with family and friends!

Big Banana. This treat features delicious banana mousse with a milk chocolate coating. It tastes similar to an actual banana, which is sweet and as a bit creamy. It’s also so soft and filling!

Cool Mint Lemon. A unique combination of lemon and peppermint made these dessert patties hard to resist. They’re even coated with chocolate. They do taste like a gourmet treat and they’re meant to be enjoyed one at a time.

Milch Wafflets. We got another strawberry-flavored snack! It’s a crispy wafer biscuit with creamy strawberry filling, a great snack to munch on even when on the go. It’s light and sweet as well.

Nut Joe Haselnuss Waffel. We got another wafer snack in our box, and this time it comes with roasted hazelnuts and a milk chocolate coating. Like the first wafer snack, this treat tastes really good, with a bit of crunch and nutty flavor!

Bobby Caramel Bar. It’s a chewy chocolate bar with a layer of rice crisps and a soft caramel filling inside. The combination of different textures makes it such a delight to eat!

This month’s Universal Yum box is filled with yet another amazing curation of tasty and flavorful snacks! Most of the snacks we got this month are sweet and chocolatey. We found them pretty satisfying, especially because we all have a sweet tooth in the family. Austria is absolutely a great place with great snacks, and Universal Yums really did a great job showing it to us. It’s truly a fantastic way to get the whole family involved too!
