This October, we showcase acclaimed Iranian filmmaker, Abbas Kiarostami’s much awaited boxed set: Koker Trilogy. The film has been restored by The Criterion Collection, and released this August.
Each box includes:
The Koker Trilogy includes the following three films, each set in the rural Iranian town of Koker, blending comedy, tragedy, reality and fiction in unusual ways.
Where is the Friend’s House?
And Life Goes On
Through the Olive Trees
These three films lead into one another in masterful ways. The first film ‘Where is my Friend’s House’, a neorealist adventure of sorts, follows a school boy searching for his friend’s house, in a neighboring village, so he can return his notebook to him. The second film, ‘And Life Goes On’, blends fiction with reality, as Kiarostami visits the earthquake ravaged village in which the first film was filmed. And the third film, ‘Through the Olive Trees’, is a fictional account of going behind the scenes of the second film!
Cost: $49.95. Retail Value: $99.95
