This is a review of a regular, non-curated box.

The box is full of wonderful sample products!

Along with the items is a lovely sticker shaped like a flower with pouty lips decorated in it. It also says “Stronger Together” which screams girl power for me.

The photo on this leaflet features the strong, independent and wonderful women behind Birchbox and Female Founder Collective.

Female Founder and Birchbox now work together to empower and inspire women more. Awesome!

At the back of the leaflet are the names of the faces of FFC and everything you need to know about this month’s featured artists.

The information card gives brief details on each item as well as the price if you were to buy the full size.

You can visit Birchbox.com/MyBox to easily see the details of your box, which I recommend because sometimes they have videos on the item product pages which I find useful.

Everything in my May 2019 box!

Huxley Secret Of Sahara Mask ($12) It’s a microfiber mask in unique two-pouch packaging. The mask sheet is packed separately from its oil essence. The idea is to help stabilize and maximize the ingredients’ stability of the oil essence until it’s absorbed. This, for me, is a great concept.

This mask gives a boost of radiance and helps skin get fully moisturized and protected from harmful elements. It’s loaded with nourishing botanicals which are naturally healthy and delightfully refreshing for the skin.

The oil has a slightly strong fragrance, but in a pleasing way. It’s still to my liking. The sheet doesn’t dry out quickly compared to other brands, so I let it stay on my face for 30 minutes, which is more than what they’ve suggested. The result is baby soft and glowing skin!

Next is this tandem of replenishing hair care products!

Alterna Caviar Anti-Aging Moisture Shampoo ($5.40) This shampoo makes my hair effortlessly clean and fresh-smelling. It’s like giving my hair the spa treatment it deserves. Continued use of this shampoo promises to make your hair stronger and even more manageable, so you can run your fingers through it without massive shredding or breakage.

Alterna Caviar Moisture Conditioner ($5.40) Just like the shampoo, this conditioner is formulated to protect and to shield hair from color fade, daily stresses, and future damage. It can be paired or used alternatively with the shampoo. Either way, the result is a stronger and healthier hair!

Benefit Cosmetics High Beam Mini ($10.24) This satiny-pink liquid highlighter accents the cheek and brow bones for a dewy, radiant glow.

For a pale, textured skin like mine, putting a highlight on can be a hit or a miss, but with this product, I can get a beautiful, natural sheen that makes me look lit from within. I use it as a spot highlighter over makeup and on bare skin for a subtle luminescence.

To apply, just dot and blend over makeup onto cheek and brow bones or anywhere you desire to add definition.

Kiehl’s Ultra Facial Cream ($4.73) With its unique, lightweight texture and lasting hydration, this face cream helps combat dry skin like no other, even in extreme weather conditions.

It’s non-greasy and uniquely formulated for all skin types, even the most sensitive skin. It can be applied day and night on a clean, dry face and neck.

Dr. Lipp Tint ($3.31) This tint does a good job in keeping my lips soft and moisturized. It has a rich and creamy texture that feels lovely on the lips. The color is not that pigmented, but I wouldn’t want my tint to be full of color either. It’s easy to apply and its longevity is pretty good too!

Lastly, there’s a card that announces they’re giving away free gifts to subscribers!

There’s a coupon code – ROLLER – that Birchbox subscribers can use to get a FREE rose quartz facial roller for every $35+ shop purchase! See more GWP at Birchbox here.

Look good and feel confident, I guess that’s the message that Birchbox is trying to send to women and they’re doing a really good job at it. This personalized box is pretty awesome because I get to choose one product that I want to include in my box.  This month had a value of about $41, which is pretty great, even considering the increased cost.
