As a subscriber (limited numbers can join each month), you are invited to join the Society of Seekers, a group of like-minded puzzle fiends who use their heads and a little bit of internet-search know-how to explore a city and solve a mystery each month.

Included in this month’s box is a welcome letter and checklist of every item that should be inside the package, plus all the clues you’ll need to solve the mystery.

Everything in my December 2018 box!

This mysterious sheet contains 3 pictures from various places in San Francisco!

On the other side of the sheet is a crossword puzzle. You get the website on the sheet of paper, and that has all the clues to help you solve the crossword. It’s important to know you don’t have to fill in the whole length of the spaces on the crossword puzzle.

The first clue is coming from this white souvenir shirt from Port & Company.

The clue hiding behind this shirt is very tricky, I really had a pretty hard time before realizing that it was the hint.

The next item we had is a card containing a compass that with Finders Seekers logo at the middle. This compass will definitely lead you to the password.

Have you ever played Sudoku, a logic-based puzzle involving number placement? If yes, then this activity will be an easy one for you.

It took a while before we fully filled-in the squares, but it was fun!

The next clue is a strip of paper, similar to that from a fortune cookie!

An unusual idea will lead to your success.

There are “lucky numbers” printed at the back.

Here’s an old news article from EXTRA, published December 17, 1962.

On a closer look, you’ll get another clue for the puzzle…maybe (ok not really).

We also got an advertisement sheet from Sage Cosmetics.

When you fold this sheet you’ll form a word COCOA, another clue we’ll be using on the puzzle.

There’s another activity card, where you need to drive your way to the finish line and see the letters you will be landing. Then, jot down each letter and see the word you’ll form prior to arriving at the finish line.

Once you finish the crossword, unscramble the framed letters, and go to the website, which gives instructions on completing the QR code.

Here’s what’s on the website!

Silicon Valley is home to the world’s largest tech companies, including Apple, Facebook and Google. To finish the “Find,” transfer your crossword puzzle answers to the QR code sheet. Once you have transferred your answers, color each box that has a letter in it solid black with a pencil. Do this carefully, staying in the lines (like you were taught in Kindergarten). Don’t color in the one box that is a space between Lion Dance.

After you have finished coloring all of the boxes with letters in them, use your phone’s camera to scan the QR (quick response) code. If you have colored in the correct boxes, it will take you to a super secret website and you will complete this “Find.”

It wasn’t too difficult to fill in the QR code but we did need to use a sharpie – a pencil wouldn’t work.

We have finally completed the puzzle, so there was a button to click to reveal the prizes!

If you love solving mysteries, breaking limits, and cracking codes, this is a subscription you shouldn’t ever miss! This month’s box is totally thrilling and mind-boggling. We spent some time solving the puzzle, finding clues, and checking other things on different websites and it was so much fun. It might be challenging but once you’ve finally solvde the puzzle, it’s totally worth it! We’re looking forward to more fun and exciting puzzles to solve on our next box!
