Macy’s Beauty Box is a monthly subscription that delivers five deluxe beauty samples, one bonus item, and a collectible cosmetics bag for $15 per month. Beauty Box subscribers also get an exclusive $5 beauty coupon that can be used online and in-store.

The pouch is so cute and useful too.

It’s fully transparent for a change! At least you can easily locate the pouch’s contents.

The theme this month is New Year New Youth!

Each month comes with a Macy Beauty Box booklet.

There is a $10 off coupon at the back of the booklet. The coupon is valid in-store or online from 12/30/2018 until 3/1/19, but it excludes use for future beauty boxes. There’s free shipping on all Macy’s Beauty orders. Check out these categories sorted from low to high price: Bath & Body, Natural BeautyMakeup, Skincare, and Travel-size.

Hooray for another $10 off instead of $5! Unfortunately Macy’s has totally decimated this benefit by starting to charge shipping on beauty orders. I selected a comb (that’s right, a regular COMB) and the shipping was $10.95! This benefit is basically nothing unless you are looking to buy a $49+ item. Shame, Macy’s!

The information booklet gives you a list of all the items included in the box.

It also includes tips on using the items.

Everything in the January 2019 Macy’s Beauty Box!

Somehow, the transparent style is back on trend. I love the white pom-pom detail on the zipper.

TonyMoly I’m Lemon Gel Eye Patch ($4) These are little fabric backed eye gels with a fresh lemony scent to brighten and moisturize the under eye area. I was skeptical, but I didn’t find the scent irritating to my eyes. The fabric was a bit difficult to peel off, but I was rewarded with a slightly textured eye gel that sticks really well!

Marc Jacobs Daisy Eau De Toilette Spray ($1.22) This fruity floral scent has key notes of strawberry, violet leaves, and jasmine that uplifts my mood.

It has an irresistible feminine scent that also features succulent wild berries and sensual sandalwood for a romantic finish.

Kiehl’s Since 1851 Glow Formula Skin Hydrator ($3.80) This lightweight, 24-hour moisturizer fights dryness, dullness and uneven texture of the skin. You can apply this under makeup or foundation for a luminous finish. I like that its not greasy nor heavy on my skin. It also provides instant hydration and radiance boost.

Dr. Brandt Microdermabrasion ($9.88) It’s a cream exfoliator that helps dullness, uneven texture, fine lines, wrinkles, and blemishes. It helps revitalize the skin, making it smoother, clearer and brighter in minutes. To use, just dampen the skin with warm water and slowly but gently massage onto skin for a minute or two. The formula is recommended to be used once or twice per week or allowing 3 days between applications. It is, however, hard to get the full use of the tube unless you cut it open!

Clinique Moisture Surge 72-Hour Auto-Replenishing Hydrator ($4.56) It’s a cooling gel-cream that provides an instant but long-lasting moisture boost that fights dryness, fine lines, wrinkles, dullness, and uneven texture. It doesn’t contain parabens, sulfates, or phthalates. The formula promises to deliver twice the hydration as it has an auto-replenishing technology which helps skin create its own water source. It is also packed with hyaluronic acid that makes the product effective even after washing the face. You can use this as a 5-minute mask, under or over makeup or anytime you needed a moisture boost.

Philosophy Anti-Wrinkle Miracle Worker + Line Correcting Primer ($10.13) A thin layer of this multi-tasking primer over moisturized skin is enough to make a flawless base for makeup. This makes makeup last all day long while reducing the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. It has sodium hyaluronate, Indian gentian extract, tripeptide and potent form of vitamin C that are powerhouses in blurring imperfections and wrinkles.

Macy’s is making way for us to have beautiful skin to start the new year right! I’m all for products that make us glow from within. I think it is more beneficial in the long run to invest in a good skincare routine. Good thing this box gave us a lot of moisturizers from different brands for us to try. Not bad for having 2 moisturizers, an exfoliator, face mask, perfume, and primer. I like the anti-wrinkle primer because it is makeup and skincare product in 1. The total value was about $34, which is really only ok for a $15 beauty box. Charging shipping to use the coupon is insulting. With that change, this should really be a $10 subscription, unless you really must get your hands on sample sizes of the brands that Macy’s carries.
