Birchbox is a beauty sampling subscription service that sends 5 new items each month so you can try before you buy. Birchbox is $10 a month and you can choose a monthly sample during selection time, let Birchbox decide, or pick a pre-curated box.

This is a review of a regular, non-curated box.

DEAL: Use one of these offers for a luxe freebie with your subscription – just visit Birchbox and use the code!

This fall, this box will also help you connect with your job, your friends, yourself, and of course, your beauty routine.

The information card gives brief details on each item as well as the price if you were to buy the full size.

You can visit Birchbox.com/MyBox to easily see the details of your box, which I recommend because sometimes they have videos on the item product pages which I find useful.

The box is full of wonderful sample products!

Everything in my November box! We had a lot of discussion about that double LXMI sample!

Vital Proteins Beauty Collagen in Strawberry-Lemon ($2.43) This supplement powder can be added to your chosen dish or drink. It contains collagen peptide that helps support your nail and hair growth, skin elasticity, skin hydration, and digestive health.

It comes in 2 flavors: Strawberry Lemon and Lavender Lemon.

Is it anyone’s favorite beauty sample? Probably not, especially in such small box! It was marked as a bonus, but that left us with only FOUR non-bonus products. That’s why there’s two of these:

LXMI Creme Du Nil ($22.23) Nilotica is a rare ingredient found only in Uganda, and it is used in this face cream that hydrates and moisturizes the skin for a fresh look and feel. It has a milky texture that smoothes and gives the skin a cool feeling. Use it before makeup for easier and smoother application of foundation. You can also use it before bed to boost the skin’s ability to repair during the night.

This is a great luxe sample and I’m happy to have two of them – but since this is a sampling subscription, I would have preferred 5 regular samples! We poked around and found that other subscribers that received this item without collagen powder received only one sample.

Love Of Color Glow Squad Quad Single in Clink ($8) I got this highlighter/eyeshadow in Clink, which is a beautiful rose gold shimmer.

The beautiful shimmer can be used as a replacement when your palette runs out of other shades. It looked good when I swatched it, and I’m trying to use it as an eyeshadow to see how much color pays off when actually used. So pretty!

Love Beauty & Planet Coconut Water & Mimosa Flower Body Wash ($2) This body wash smells fresh and clean, as it is made of coconut water and mimosa flower. I love using it during showers as it leaves my skin feeling smooth, fresh, and well-hydrated! It doesn’t contain any harsh ingredients, and you can truly feel that every shower time is bliss.

Number 4 Jour d’automne Soothing Balm ($5.88) This soothing balm is perfect for dry, frizzy, and coarse hair. Its formula minimizes frizz while giving the hair a soft and touchable texture, as it protects the tresses from heat and humidity. It’s an easy fix! I applied this to my daughter’s semi-wrecked hair (hello bed  head!) and it worked wonders!

The box has a retail value of $40.54 and contains items that cover my needs from head to toe! Among the items I got from this box, my favorite is definitely the highlighter/shadow that comes in rose gold. I can use it in place of some eyeshadow shades for an easy holiday-ready fix. Also, I like the body wash and the face cream as they gave my skin the hydration it needs. The soothing balm also immediately solves problems with coarse and frizzy hair! Collagen powder – ok as a bonus – the only thing that saved the day was getting TWO LXMI samples! Total value – about $41.
