Revealed!  Here’s the September SinglesSwag box. Love me some purlisse, and how cute is that bracelet!?!

The information card contains a brief description of each item and its value. This month’s quote is, “the way you treat yourself sets the standard for others.” Yes, ladies, how you treat yourself matters!  It tells others how they should be treating you as well. Make sure you know and show your value to the world.

I Was Told There’d Be Cake Essays by Sloane Crosley ($16):  This is currently available at Amazon.com for $12.99. The collection of stories in the book are well written, and there were episodes that I found funny. However, there was also a part of me that couldn’t relate. Maybe it’s a generational gap?!? Ugh, now I feel old.

From the author of 2018’s much buzzed about Look Alive Out There

Wry, hilarious, and profoundly genuine, Sloane Crosley’s debut collection of literary essays is a celebration of fallibility and haplessness in all their glory.  The New York Times bestseller that both captured and influenced a generation.

From despoiling an exhibit at the Natural History Museum to provoking the ire of her first boss to siccing the cops on her mysterious neighbor, Crosley can do no right despite the best of intentions — or perhaps because of them. Together, these essays create a startlingly funny and revealing portrait of a complex and utterly recognizable character who aims for the stars but hits the ceiling, and the inimitable city that has helped shape who she is. I Was Told There’d Be Cake introduces a strikingly original voice, chronicling the struggles and unexpected beauty of modern urban life.

Laritzy Cosmetics | Dew Pot in Utopia ($20):  One of 6 shades in the dew pot collection, Utopia is described as a warm rose gold.  This is an ultrafine cream shimmer that gives you a dewy or dramatic highlight, depending on how much you built it up. The highlighter is blendable and works with a range of skintones.

The rose gold tone gives more of a natural sheen to skin.

Here’s a swatch. As you can see, the shade is subtle but gives a nice pop of shimmer. This is about 3 layers on my wrist.

Oh K! | Coconut Water Face Mask Set ($22):  These are currently available for $12 on Amazon.com.  How adorable is this packaging? The coconut water formula is designed to provide maximum hydration. The essence also contains Allantoin and aloe. Oh K! is known for its line of cute beauty products that are inspired by visits to Seoul. This pack contains 3 masks – perfect for the drier fall weather that is coming.

Totes adorbs, as my niece would say.

Product information is presented in a variety of languages.

Lesser Evil Buddha Bowl Foods | Himalayan Gold Butter Flavored Coconut Oil Popcorn ($2.50?):  Popcorn? Yes, please! No, this will not replace your favorite movie theater version, but the popcorn does a nice job of killing a craving. Although, I do wish the bag was a little bigger since I love popcorn so much.

popchips | Potato Ridges – Tangy Barbeque ($2.50?):  I like popchips because they give me the satisfaction of a potato chip without the guilt. The barbeque flavor was good and paired nicely with my lunch sandwich.

However, I feel that pricing on these was way off. SinglesSwag gave these a combined value of $5, but it really should be more around the $2 mark at most.

Gemelli | Izzy Bracelet Set ($70):  Stretch bracelets with jasper and crystal beads with cream tassel. The bracelets are attached, so you effortlessly get a layered look. I love the soft blue and gray color contrasted with the jade green.

I love the way this looks on. Although the tassel and I had a little bit of a fight – I couldn’t get it to stay down.

Headbands of Hope | Heather Tube Turban ($17):  This is a stretchable seamless tube, measuring 10″ wide by 20″ tall. For every headband sold, Headbands of Hope donates one to a child with cancer. I’m kind of nerdy and had to try each of the ways shown on the tag to wear this. Click here to see style inspiration from Headbands of Hope for the tube turbans.

Here’s a closer look at the Heather pattern. I love the contrast of the dark background with pops of bright color.

It was either pose with this as a normal headband or go with the bank robber look. Click here for a video from another brand that shows the different ways to achieve the looks on the card as well as a few other styles.

purlisse | Watermelon Energizing Aqua Balm ($45):  In my July SinglesSwag box, I received the Watermelon Energizing face masks which I loved. This gel cream provides all the same benefits on a daily basis and is the perfect compliment for your skin after using the mask. The formula is lightweight and absorbs quickly. It is oil-free and packed with Vitamins A, B & C (to energize and hydrate), aloe vera (to reduce inflammation), white tea (antioxidant), and cucumber (to soothe and firm). Plus, the scent is yummy too. While this is pricey, it is worth every penny.

A little of this goes a long way. This pea-sized amount is enough to cover my whole face.

The September SinglesSwag box has a listed value of $195.  With the deals that I found online, this drops slightly to $179. Regardless, that is still a huge win in the box value department. The big ticket items were the Gemelli bracelet and purlisse moisturizer, both of which I adore. I’ve also gotten a ton of use out of the tube headband, and the snacks were gone quickly. LOL! I feel that lately, SinglesSwag has upped their standards for box curations, and I’m happy with the results. How about you? What were your faves? Whether you’re single or attached, I think you can enjoy this box. Plus, what a great monthly box if you’re searching for something to replace your monthly POPSUGAR Must Have Box!
