Owl Crate is a monthly subscription of books and bookish items. Each OwlCrate contains one new Young Adult novel, as well as 3-5 other bookish items all matched to the monthly theme. OwlCrate always sends the best items to go along with their theme with the hottest new books out there.

September’s OwlCrate theme is Masters of Disguise. OwlCrate always has the best info card prints. One side is a print representing the theme and the other side is the information for the box contents.

The information card tells a little bit about all the items in this month’s box along with little comments on why they were selected or other fun tidbits. The theme follows through even with the info. It is always decorated to go along with that month.

Everything in my September OwlCrate box.

In addition to the information card, we get a booklet with more info on the author and theme.

We get interviews with the author and some of the suppliers of the extra items, a sneak peek of the next OwlCrate and a comparison of the exclusive cover versus the regular cover.

The book comes in a plastic bag each month and the exclusive cover sticker is on the outside of the bag.

I take the sticker off the bag and place it on the inside sleeve of the jacket. This way I will always know why the book looks different then what I can see online if I was to go to look.

Mirage by Tracy Bangham ($12.91) – What an interesting tale. She is a princess doppelganger and stuck in a life she didn’t ask for. I can’t wait to see how she works her way out of it and leads the life we all know she has dreamed of having.

In a world dominated by the brutal Vathek empire, eighteen-year-old Amani is a dreamer. She dreams of what life was like before the occupation; she dreams of writing poetry like the old-world poems she adores; she dreams of receiving a sign from Dihya that one day, she, too, will have adventure, and travel beyond her isolated home.

But when adventure comes for Amani, it is not what she expects: she is kidnapped by the regime and taken in secret to the royal palace, where she discovers that she is nearly identical to the cruel half-Vathek Princess Maram. The princess is so hated by her conquered people that she requires a body double, someone to appear in public as Maram, ready to die in her place.

As Amani is forced into her new role, she can’t help but enjoy the palace’s beauty―and her time with the princess’ fiancé, Idris. But the glitter of the royal court belies a world of violence and fear. If Amani ever wishes to see her family again, she must play the princess to perfection…because one wrong move could lead to her death.

The book also came with a note from the author.

After a long hot day on the job, what is better than coming home to a hot bath and a relaxing soak? This exclusive bath soak is inspired by The Diabolic and created by Leeloo Soaps. So sit and relax and watch your bath get extra shimmery and foamy!

Oh fun! Owlcrate sent some exclusively designed fingerless gloves. We are still in the 90°Fs here so I won’t be wearing them for a while but it is fall so I know the days are coming and I can’t wait! I long for cool days with jeans and cute booties and my new fingerless gloves.

They slipped right on and are so well done. With the button, we are now part of the exclusive Crow Club.

The other side has the OwlCrate logo owl.

Ehhhh I could not wait to dig into this box. I have loved all the mugs that OwlCrate has sent before and I was excited to see what exclusive mug we got this month.

The back gives a bit away but I actually didn’t notice it or read it until I had already opened the box so a win-win. I actually don’t mind spoilers so if I’d seen this I would have been even more excited.

I took a couple different pictures so you can see all of the imagery. It is all stunning and has so much depth.

The Prisoner of Azkaban is my favorite movie and I really think some of it has to do with the weeping willow. I love how they use it to tell time and how it really is a character in itself. The changing of the seasons is represented is shown with amazing characteristic and it really brings the story to life.

I’m ready to ride the night bus. Are you?

In case you didn’t notice above this is an exclusive design just for OwlCrate.

Ready to deceive the princes and assassins in your life? Use this exclusive apple mint lip balm inspired by The Kiss of Deception by Geek Fire Labs.

A sneak peek and pre-order information for Grim Lovelies came with some gold nail polish.

Artist Kirsty Carter illustrated this beautiful exclusive art print inspired by Lila Beard from the Shades of Magic series. Each month we also get a button showing the inspiration of the theme.

Owl Crate sent a box full of exclusive items to go along with the Master of Disguise.  I’m ready to get some fall weather to warm up some hot tea in my mug, wear my gloves and finish my day with a steaming hot bath. The box this month is perfect for me and the days as we transition into fall.  Owl Crate takes such care in getting unique and exclusive items to go with each monthly theme and I couldn’t be more excited to open it each month.
