BeadCrate is a monthly subscription box for bead enthusiasts. Every month, you’ll receive a curated collection of beads, findings, and other goodies to enhance your beading creations! There are two box sizes – Enthusiast ($18.99 + $5 Shipping) and Collector ($35 with free shipping) to choose from.

This is the Enthusiast Crate!

We also have a curator’s note explaining the theme. This month’s theme is All That Glitters! You can share your creation on their social media (Instagram or Facebook, don’t forget to tag them!)

The crate comes with a chart that tells you exactly what you’re getting.

The beads always come neatly packaged inside individual well-labelled plastic bags inside a cute organza bag.

8mm Patina Olive rounds. At first, I thought they were more copper than olive, but they are translucent and you can see the olive color.

9x6mm Montana Blue AB Vertical Hole Tear Drops. I love love love the color! I love making dangles with tear drops, either for earrings or as a pendant.

6mm Firepolished Matte Apollo Jet. I really wanted to do something with them as they look amazing with the Toho Lavender Lined seed beads, but all my attempts died on my mat! I love how they could work out with both colorful and dark designs.

9x10mm Violet Rainbow Briolettes. These are so cute! They are matte from both sides, and the hole goes through at the pinched part. They look like little teardrops and would make fabulous earrings, even though I received no matching colors. I actually like the idea of different colored earrings.

14x14mm Luster Triangle Nugget. They look like matte, but they are actually translucent, with a nice blue-grey color. The hole is top to bottom.

3x6mm Pale gold Farfalle. I’m not familiar with this shape, but I could use 4 or 5 above a simple bead on a headpin for a funky vibe.

8x10mm Dark Topaz AB Leaves. Fall is not fall without some leaves! I like leaves beads for cluster earrings with different length small chains.

3mm Firepolished Metallic Emperador. These glass beads really give out a metallic vibe. I like small fire polished beads to add some sparks to a design with a lot of matte round beads. Metallic ones can be paired with bead caps of the same colors for some fun dangle designs.

3mm Luster Mic Rounds. I always put these mix aside when we get them because I feel we don’t get enough of each colors, but then I end up using them because of it! I like how they really tie all the colors from this box together. They can be easily used in a wire design or with threads as they don’t have any sharp edges and they look so soft.

4mm Firepolished Snow Shimmer. We always get fire polished beads, and I like how they add sparks, without being “too much”.

8/0 Toho Silver Lined Crystal. Every month, we receive at least one type of seed beads. I like getting seed beads that are lined so you don’t really see the color of your thread through it.

8/0 Toho Lavender Lined Rainbow Topaz. I really really liked these seed beads, and they were my inspiration for this month’s challenge. I love how they have a vintage look with the metallic and purple hues.

3mm Antique Gold Plated Hematite Rounded Cubes. Cute little beads, they would work nicely on a loom (I seem to have lost mine…), or for any beaded design when you want some metal, without all the weight!

This month, I wanted to try my hand at a seed bead design. Yes, this is the first time I’m doing something like that!

I really wanted to used the lovely lavender toho beads, and the hematite rounded square.

This month’s BeadCrate helped me step outside my comfort zone and really try something with the seed beads!. The colors were amazing and true to “All that Glitters is not Gold”, while giving out a nice vintaged vibe. It was also a nice selection for this time of the year with earthy tones, fitting with the beginning of Fall!
