Play! by Sephora is a monthly subscription box that brings only the best and exclusive Sephora beauty and makeup samples. The subscription costs $10 per month, and you’ll get 5 deluxe beauty products, playlists, a fragrance bonus item, plus coupons you can use when you visit in-store.

Your subscription also entitles you to PLAY! Date meetups if your store participates. I don’t even have a Sephora (not even a JCP one) but this box totally excites me even without those experiences. I love the high-end brands every month for just $10.

When you open the box of Sephora, you will find a white pouch with the words “Make it Snappy” emblazoned on it. There is also a green tie inside the box.

That little card is a PLAY! Pass that will get you 50 extra Beauty Insider points with a purchase from the box, in-store only. You can also get a complimentary mini makeover!

This month’s theme is Insta Beauty!

This fold-out poster shows a list of all the items included in this box plus beauty trivia and tips. You can access all of the information and also watch the videos right on the Sephora site or use the app to scan the sheet for more info!

The pouch is really cute!

Everything in my box! See the spoilers for all the variations here.

Buxom Full-On Lip Polish In Celeste ($6.76) I like the plumping effect that this full-on lip polish brings to my lips. It was tingly, but definitely bearable.

Since it contains vitamins A and E, the formula also helped in moisturizing my lips.

I got it in Celeste, a prismatic soft peach shade. The shimmer is just so pretty. It also comes with a doefoot applicator that makes it so easy to use!

Make Up For Ever Ultra HD Perfector In Shade #6 ($6) This skin tint adds a nice soft focus filter to the skin and since it has a broad spectrum feature, it also provides protection from the harmful sun rays. I got it in Shade #6, also known as warm sand. I didn’t have any trouble using it with the rest of my makeup. It’s weightless and non-greasy, ideal for wearing over moisturizer.

Here are the swatches! On top is the skin perfector and below is the lip polish.

Kiehl’s Powerful-Strength Line-Reducing Concentrate ($6.20) Enriched with vitamin C and fragmented hyaluronic acid, this serum promises to reduce lines, wrinkles, and even pores on your skin. It’s ideal for all skin types, including those with sensitive skin. For best results, you can use it twice a day, morning and night. It smells great and makes my skin instantly hydrated, but I might have to wait for a few weeks for visible anti-aging results.

Philosophy Purity Made Simple Moisturizer ($1.24) Dry skin is one of my constant skin concerns, so I’m glad to receive this ultra-light moisturizer in the box. It’s fast absorbing and it prepped my skin well for makeup application. It didn’t seem to reduce dullness and improve my skin texture like what it claims, but it does provide instant hydration and it didn’t cause me breakouts.

Burberry My Burberry Blush ($4.53) I found this scent fitting for spring. It’s fruity and floral at the same time, with key notes of pomegranate, rose, and jasmine.

This sample-sized spray bottle can easily fit my purse!

The scent lingers, but it wasn’t overpowering.

Dr. Dennis Gross Ferulic + Retinol Wrinkle Recovery Peel ($11) Fighting wrinkles while I sleep? This ferulic and retinol peel definitely looks promising. It’s ideally applied two to three times a week in the evening by thoroughly massaging the treatment pad on clean skin. Ferulic acid offers antioxidant protection, while retinol helps smooth wrinkles and keeps the skin hydrated.

I received two individually packaged treatment pads. It’s also good to note that this contains AHA which may increase your skin’s sensitivity to the sun, so daily use of a sunscreen while using the treatment is highly recommended. It was so easy to use and I swear I’m already seeing results!

I love the samples included in this month’s box, especially the anti-aging products and the moisturizer. The items in this curation work together to give me a selfie-ready natural look, so I’m pretty satisfied overall.  Also, the total retail value is $35.73, and it’s noticeably higher than last month’s!
