Doki Doki is a monthly kawaii subscription box from Japan Crate. Every month, you’ll receive super cute Japanese items – accessories, stationery, plushies, and other adorable Japanese goodies.

April 2018 theme is TIME CAPSULE!

I can sense maximum cuteness from this box!

DEAL: Use coupon code HELLO to save $3 on your first box!

The cover art this month is so kawaii and is by Seica.

The card also has a fun comic strip!  The booklet notes that this is the first box of a revamp for Doki Doki, featuring more practical goods with a kawaii spin!

The info sheet includes photos of the items, plus a brief description of each.

Everything in the April 2018 box!

Sanrio Coloring Book. The Sanrio cuties are all gathered in this super kawaii coloring book!

Of course, the back cover features the most popular of them all, Hello Kitty!

Here’s a coloring page of Hello Kitty along with her teddy bear, Tiny Chum!

Cinamoroll is also present in this cute Sanrio character compilation!

On these pages are Pochacco and Kero Kero Keroppi!

The Sanrio coloring book wouldn’t be complete without Little Twin Stars, Kiki and Lala. Beside them is Hummingmint, a cute and gentle fawn.

My Melody is also present on the coloring pages. Two pages were dedicated to her!

They might be the lesser known Sanrio characters, but they’re still so loveable: Pekkle the duck, and the three cheeky brothers Goro, Pika, and Don.

There’s also Bonbonribbon, who is a cute pink rabbit that can sing and dance, and the adorable penguin named Tuxedosam!

The comedic Hangyodon is also included in this collection of kawaii-ness, and don’t forget the Salmon popstar, Kirimi! We’re all excited to make them look alive and colorful!

Badtz-Maru Coin Purse. A cute clasped purse inspired by Badtz Maru, a penguin with a spiked hair and a classic Sanrio character!

The design features Badtz with his friend Hana-Maru, a white seal.

The purse also comes with a ball chain, so you can attach it to a bigger bag. It can fit coins and bills alike if you don’t mind folding the bills up and the great yellow lining makes it easy to see inside.

Tuxedosam Plush Key Chain. For those who are not familiar, Tuxedosam is a penguin and he is known for his great fashion sense. In fact, he owns 365 bow ties! That’s good for a year!

Tuxedo Sam is so squishy, I can’t get enough of it! With his little ball chain he’s perfect for a purse or bag.

Poké Ball Pouch. The Great Ball is a type of Poké Ball that has a higher chance to successfully catch a Pokémon, at around 50%, than a regular Poké Ball. I got it in the form of a pouch!

Its main color is blue and white with two red patches on the upper part.

Too cute! I hope to catch more Pokémon with this… I mean put more stuff in it!

80s Sanrio Retro Cup. This retro cup features Pochacco, a white dog with black ears. He was born in 1989, so the retro theme fits him well!

The cup’s interior is filled with kawaii retro stuff too, including Pochacco wearing headphones and cassette tapes!

The exterior design features a big illustration of Pochacco with his name and title.

I like the soft colors used in the design. It adds to the cuteness of the whole cup!

Sanrio Outdoor Mat. Spring is a good time to go on a picnic with this kawaii mat featuring Little Twin Stars!

Kiki and Lala look like they’re having so much fun along with their friends. It’s such an adorable scene. It’s not large enough for a whole picnic – just intended to give you enough mat to sit on the ground.

Everything is so kawaii, and the fact that most are from Sanrio made me even happier. The great thing about the stuff in this box is that they’re all high-quality and licensed, and have practical uses as well. Overall, I think this is a great subscription for any Japan fan or for anyone who simply loves kawaii stuff! I’m not sure if they really hit the mark yet with the most practical of items – but I think it’s a good balance, plus I definitely felt some throwback love!
