It seems that I was supposed to receive a bottle of Etude House’s Proof 10 Eye Primer, but didn’t get it. However, Beauteque subbed with another eye product with the same value so everything is all good. Plus, I can’t stay made at a monster that is that cute.
January’s Beauteque BB Box theme is Prime Time – This is your time!

New Year, New Beauteque BB box. Here’s to a fresh start!
Candy O’ Lady | Candy Crush Cleanser ($7.99): Each color cleansing ball serves a different skin treatment purpose. The balls breakdown to exfoliate and massage while your wash. To use, crush one in your hand and add water to make a rich lather. My niece stole these from me before I could even test these out. She said she liked the way that they fully cleaned her face and that the lather was really thick.
- Orange – cleans and purifies
- Gray – calms and soothes
- Blue – hydrates and nourishes
- Green – removes dead skin cells
- Pink – helps with pore control
Sandepin | Octopus Silicone Cleansing & Massaging Brush ($5.99): This little brush is totes adorable! I didn’t even realize he was an octopus – I actually thought he was a bear. Oops, my bad! His head has a small nubs to exfoliate and scrub away dirt and makeup. His tentacles (bottom) has longer bristles to gently massage skin and improve circulation. Simply place your favorite cleanser on the internal sponge and wash away the day.
A top view of the silicone brush. Did you notice that it mimics the octopus’ face (although here it looks like a lion with a mane)?
The bottom view. The candy crush cleansing balls fit perfectly inside of the octopus, and the sponge helps to maintain all of the soapy goodness.
Farm Stay | Charcoal Black Head Peel-Off Nose Pack ($9.99): I’m sure you’ve seen all of the charcoal mask fails on the internet and wondered what all the fuss was about. Well, charcoal is known to draw out impurities naturally while the mask captures and pulls them out and off of your skin. This mask is formulated with charcoal, green tea, and grapefruit extracts to cleanse and exfoliate in the same manner – but it is specifically meant to be used on and around the nose. Tip – open up pores before applying the mask by placing a warm compress on the skin for 10-15 minutes ahead of time.
Somang | Keratin Silk Protein Hair Glaze ($24.99): While this can be used on all hair types, it is geared toward hair that has been damaged by chemical treatments. The keratin and silk proteins in the glaze coat hair for a smoother, frizz free look hair while boosting shine. Originally, I wanted to try this as a heat protectant before blow drying and flat ironing my hair. However, my dryer had other plans and decided to die on me. So, I tried this on my hair and air dried my curls. I am so happy with the result! My curls were SUPER defined with a ton of bounce. The glaze made my hair look healthier and it was still soft to the touch. This bottle will go a long way since I only used 2 pumps for all of my hair.
Yadah | Good Bye Smudge Auto Gel Eye Liner – Romantic Brown ($8.90): According to the package, this is a multi-function liner (doubles as a shadow stick). I’ve only used it as a liner and have to say that I love it! It goes on smoothly, with no tugging on my skin. Once applied, the color is virtually smudge free for the day. I tend to have oily eyelids and look like a raccoon at the end of the work day, but not with this.
This is an automatic liner – simply twist the base to push up product.
There’s also a built-in sharpener in the base.
When sharpened, this give a very precise fine line. I tried to rub this off about a minute after applying and had to use a makeup remover to clean the line.
MJ Care | Hand Care Pack ($5.99): Cold, dry winter air kills my hands and this pack is the perfect remedy to nourish and soften them. The essence contains glycerin, niacinamide, shea butter, argan oil, collagen, and a host of other moisturizing ingredients. I have fat fingers, so the gloves were a little tight on me but that may have helped to get the product closer to my skin. Also, since the product is inside the gloves, I can still use my hands without leaving everything covered in a lotion-y mess!
The January Beauteque BB Bag contained $64 of product! That’s more than 2.5 times the cost of the box, and I love that my new year started with such a great deal. I’m torn between the hair glaze and eyeliner as my favorites for the month. They both work really well for me. Was there a favorite for you? Click here for a sneak peek at next month’s box.

On a side note: Before trying any Asian cosmetic subscription, expect that most information on the package will be in the native language. That said, more and more brands are including directions/ingredients in English, and information can also be found in English on the majority of brands’ websites (you may have to choose a brand’s global or US site). Secondly, a large number of products focus on brightening or whitening the skin. As a person of color, I have not seen my skin color change. Instead, I’ve experienced that my skin tone gets evened out after prolonged use. However, your results may be different. And lastly, many products contain ingredients which are animal-derived, so these may not be an option if you are vegan. You can also check out cosDNA.com to see if the ingredients for the product are listed there.
