Universal Yums is a monthly international snack subscription box. Every month, you’ll take a trip to a new country and munch on brand new exciting snacks. There are two sizes of box, the Yum ($13) and the Yum Yum ($25). This is the Yum Yum box, and it’s a fun subscription that we get a kick out of each and every month.

This month the treats were from France!

These boxes are always so full and they send such an assortment of goodies to try out.

All of the items that came in my France Box!

The smaller candies all come in a Yum Bag so they don’t get tossed all around the box.

This month’s introductory note shares some France’s French Treats. Bon Appetit!

The information book has notes about all of the items and their ingredients.

These books are so informative – it includes a bit of the snack’s history and how it might taste.

Bret’s Creme Fraiche an Herb Chips – Chips are my downfall and lucky for me in France they are considered a side dish and are royally delicious. These are like a sour cream and onion chip that we will find around here.

Roullier Raspberry Madeleines – These are like a little Hostess type cake we would have here in the states. They would be great to pack on the go and eaten as a snack all day long.

Klaus Caramels with Chestnut Cream – I had no clue that chestnuts were so French. Universal Yums tells us that during the hard times in France many town relied solely on the hearty Chestnuts. These are mixed with a delicious caramel.

Gavottes Crispy Crepes Filled with Basil Pesto – Hmm, these are not my favorite. I think its the filling that just isn’t great for me. These are a crunchy rolled crepe with a filling and well are just meh for me. Others here liked them but while not horrible just not my new go to.

Bool Strawberry Bon Bons – I was laughing when I read this one. My friends and I were just talking about how people think mom’s stay home and eat Bon Bons all day while the kids are at school. We all know that is so not true but these I might make an exception for. They were really strawberry and I love strawberry flavored so I was popping them left and right.

Kubli Verbena Candy – A leafy green hard candy. Hmm, that is a a bit odd but I gave it a try and the candy was ok but the scent was a little more then I liked.

French Palets (Butter Biscuits) – I’m always happy when butter cookies come in a box. These are really sweet and salty and buttery delicious. I ate them as is but they would also be good with a bit of icing on them or you could make a bit of an icing sandwich. Oh now I have ideas for what to do with the rest of my bisquits.

Sibell Snack Tube with Cheese – I’m not a cheese fan so these are still siting on my counter. A smelly cheese snack rolled into a crunchy tube.

Roullier Almond Financiers – Another snack cake for us to enjoy. These almondy treats are kindof like a twinkie cake without the filling and a but more nutty.

Klaus Violet Dark Chocolate Bar – Chocolate and violets are not a combination I would think of but the are delicious.  In France violets are are everywhere and even in the snacks.

Sibell Black Truffle Chips – Even more chips in a box and my heart is over joyed. These didn’t last long and I ate them as I was starting to write the review.

Kubli Fruit Filled Hearts – Oh I loved these candies. The are appley and have a yummy filling.  Universal Yums suggests giving these to your sweetheart and sharing but I just kept them all to myself.

Universal Yums sent a delicious French Box this month. I admit I had never really thought much about the snacks that come out of France and just the savory delicatessens.  I’m re-evaluating that as I go through the box since so much in here was right up my alley. What a great way to spend February with all my loves.

The back of the information booklet has a clue for the next country. Clue:

Grab a hat and mittens ’cause it’s about to get colder,
Where the castles are taller and the forests are older,
You won’t need hot-mulled wine! We’ve got better Yums in store:
Creamy fudge, chocolate plums, and oh, so much more!

Where do you think we are going? Next month we are going to get a spectacular assortment of Yums from Poland!
