First look!

Each box comes with a mini magazine that gives tips on how to use the products, how much the full-sized product costs, and where to purchase, along with discount codes!

Everything in the box! My glossy red box was wrapped in plastic and my products were snuggled in white tissue paper and shredded squiggles for packing.

Simple Micellar Make-Up Remover Eye Pads ($5.99) (Some subscribers will receive Simple Water Boost Hydrating Gel Cream) I was in need of eye makeup remover so these wipes came at just the tight time! I was surprised that they were round and not much bigger than Almay wipes. One side was textured, the other smooth. I used the front and back of one wipe and needed another wipe to get the rest of my mascara and liner off. I still ended up missing some of it because I found smudges under my eyes each morning after I used these wipes. I didn’t experience any irritation and there was no scent to be detected.

Eyeko London Liquid Liner ($22) As far as liquid eyeliners go, this is a really good one! I feel like my hand isn’t steady enough to do a straight line so I just kind of dotted it on and then blended with a brush.

The tip is pretty thin so it is easy to get it in there without making big smudges under your lower lid.

Oribe Freestyler Working Hair Spray ($4.67) I recently received an Oribe spray product that I loved so I was excited to try this one, but it fell flat, just like my hair. I expected it to have that lovely peachy fragrance but it didn’t, and it didn’t lock my style in place. I think this is fine if you like to play with your hair a bit, but as soon as I try to curl mine, I want that style locked in place, and this wasn’t really designed for that purpose.

Make Up Forever Ultra HD Invisible Cover Foundation ($7.17) I think I was given 3 or 4 different shades to choose from for my sample, and I checked on the Sephora website to see which would go best with my light skin color. Unfortunately, this one was too dark and had a yellow cast so it didn’t work for me, but I did put it on my face to see how well it worked as a foundation. It gives medium coverage so it didn’t cover my redness. I had to wipe it off because I couldn’t go out in public like that so I can’t say if it lasted all day or not.

La Roche-Posay Anthelios 60 Ultra Light Sunscreen Fluid ($1.77) I love sunscreen and use it year round. This one was very thin but it disappeared on my skin and I was able to apply makeup over it. The scent is classic sunscreen but it fades quickly. Antioxidants help protect skin even further.

Make Up Forever Artist Rouge Creme Lipstick in C211 ($8.80) Make Up Forever was designed for people who perform on stage and their products are supposed to provide long-lasting color. This lipstick offers up to 8 hours worth of coverage in one creamy stroke.

This shade is called “Rosewood”. I thought it was perfect for my coloring, like my own lip color, but better. It was very creamy but lasted about the same as other lipsticks.

Laneige Water Sleeping Mask ($3.57) Laneige is a Korean beauty brand and this product is supposed to be good for all skin types, even sensitive, but it is perfumed so beware.

Dimethicone gives it that slick feeling that I usually only get with primers. You apply this gel over your regular face lotion before bed and then wipe it off in the morning. Use once or twice a week for a moisture boost.

Here are the makeup items swatched. I placed some foundation on first, then wiped my finger just above the thicker line and you can see it is yellow and doesn’t blend in. The lipstick is next followed by the eyeliner.

Allure always sends a nice variety of products and the last two boxes have had several makeup items. Some months I find a lot of spectacular products that I add to my rotation, other months are more meh but at least I got to try 7 different items. My favorites this month were the sunscreen and the lipstick. I can always use more sunscreen and the lip color was perfect for my skin tone and left my lips soft. My items had a value of around $53.97! I am so pleased with the brands that Allure sends each month, too, and it is consistently one of my favorite boxes to receive each month.
