Yuzen is a quarterly subscription box designed to help you bliss out and enjoy natural beauty products and snack items from the comfort of your own home and in larger sizes than traditional subscription boxes. Yuzen is $35 every three months and if you want this Winter box you have until January 31st to sign up and receive the current box. What can you expect to find in your Yuzen box?

Each box includes high-quality natural and organic personal care products, healthy snacks, and lifestyle items carefully chosen from about 6 companies. We recognize that consumers have begun asking where they can find the purest and best quality products but are often overwhelmed by all the choices. Each Yuzen box is carefully curated to provide amazing, healthy lifestyle products you can trust.

The outside of the box, as well as the inside cover, was covered with flowers that I am going to guess are sakura, little cherry blossoms!

The box presentation was lovely. Teal colored tissue paper greeted me and it was accented by some beautiful floral paper. Yuzen has two meanings: it is a type of traditional Japanese paper that can be used in origami, but it is also a play on words. This box is designed to help “you zen” out at home!

The items were cushioned with biodegradable packing peanuts and all the items were enclosed in a golden organza drawstring bag.

Everything in my box! I love natural beauty and food boxes and recognized several of the brands featured this cycle, and was happy to be introduced to some new-to-me brands!

I received a product information brochure that had the intentions of this box noted on the front. “Time to relax, recover, and reflect.”

The rest of the brochure listed the items and why they were chosen for this season.

I found info on the back cover about how to share my box on social media.

Andalou Naturals Kukui Cocoa Nourishing Body Butter ($1.99) smells so good, like a café mocha, and left my skin very soft.

Aloe, sunflower seed oil, and shea & cocoa butters help soften skin while fruit stem cells provide antioxidants.

ilā Beyond Organic Body Wash for Toning Skin ($8) I loved the uplifting scent of this body wash, the combo of vetiver and orange somehow smells like lemongrass! Soapbark and apricot oil are a few of the natural ingredients in this gel, and it foamed up nicely and rinsed clean away.

Andrelle’s Natural Skin Care Rose + Lavender Brightening Toner ($10) is perfect for normal to dry skin, and I do have dry skin. You can spray it directly on the face after cleansing, or spray on a cotton ball to wipe away any traces of makeup left behind.

The ingredient list is short and sweet and I was happy to see that it was free from alcohol and witch hazel, which often contains alcohol too. It smells like oranges so I think I will stick to using this at night so that it won’t interact with the sun to burn my face.

Modicum Essential Cleanser ($9.33) and Essential Exfoliant ($6) The cleanser can be used alone, or you can combine with the MSM powder for an exfoliating kick. The cleanser foams well if you use several pumps, but the smell is a little weird – it smells like BBQ pulled pork to me! Argan oil, apricot kernel oil, and black cumin seed oil are a few of the ingredients in this mix, while the exfoliating powder is comprised solely of organic dimethylsulfone, also known as MSM. MSM is a form of sulfur and may help reduce redness in rosacea-prone skin, or brighten other skin types.

Mindful Anti-Aging Eye Serum ($49) MSM also shows up in this lotion-like serum. Jojoba oil, shea butter, white tea leaf extract, and carrot seed oil are just a few of the anti-agers and moisturizing ingredients.

I love the pump dispenser, I feel like this helps keep the product contaminant-free and reduces its exposure to air, helping it last longer. My eyes absorbed it instantly, but please note this is meant for use in the evening and should be applied at least 30 minutes before bed for best results.

Z Skin Age Defying Hydroxy Face Mask ($17) I’ve tried enough of Z Skin’s products to know that I personally don’t care for the brand, but I always give them a try. Z Skin says this is an “organic alternative to professional peels” and that it can “quickly erase fine lines, wrinkles and dark marks.” Really? In only 20 minutes?

Most of the ingredients I can find in my kitchen, which is a good thing since I prefer natural beauty products. I applied to my face and waited 20 minutes before rinsing. My skin kind of absorbed it, and I didn’t feel any irritation, but after rinsing I didn’t see any results at all.

Divine Milk Chocolate with Toffee and Sea Salt ($5.16) Oh my goodness, this chocolate bar is divine indeed!

Rich milk chocolate surrounds crunchy bits of toffee while a twang of salt plays peek-a-boo here and there. This was quite nice!

I liked the products in my Winter Yuzen box! I appreciate that they offered products for bath, body, and snacking, although there was definitely a focus on the face this season. I felt like the products this season were much “cleaner” than the last shipment and I was very happy about that. The value was around $106.48, with almost half of that value in the eye serum alone! This is well over the price paid for the subscription and I felt like it was great for a natural beauty box!
