Owl Crate is a monthly subscription of books and bookish items box. Each OwlCrate contains one new Young Adult novel, as well as 3-5 other bookish items all matched to the monthly theme. I love to read and I love having books and bookish items around my house. This is a great box to send themed items for me to oogle and enjoy every month.

October’s OwlCrate theme is Find Me in the Forest. OwlCrate always has the best info card prints. One side is a print representing the theme and the other side is the information for the box contents.

The information card tells a little bit about all the items in this month’s box along with little comments on why they were selected or other fun tidbits. The theme follows through even with the info. It is always decorated to go along with that month.

Everything in my October Find Me in the Forest OwlCrate.

We got the brochure with extra information in our box this month. I would be happy to get this every month so I hope that it is the new normal.

First up we get an interview with the author and a look at the difference between our exclusive cover and the original cover.

Wild Beauty by Anne Marie McLemore ($12.59) – I’m all about some paranormal in my books so this is a good choice for me. The book itself is gorgeous and the colors on the cover are so vivid. I love going into a bookstore and browsing the books to check out what is new. This one would definitely have me checking it out.

For nearly a century, the Nomeolvides women have tended the grounds of La Pradera, the lush estate gardens that enchant guests from around the world. They’ve also hidden a tragic legacy: if they fall in love too deeply, their lovers vanish. But then, after generations of vanishings, a strange boy appears in the gardens.

The boy is a mystery to Estrella, the Nomeolvides girl who finds him, and to her family, but he’s even more a mystery to himself; he knows nothing more about who he is or where he came from than his first name. As Estrella tries to help Fel piece together his unknown past, La Pradera leads them to secrets as dangerous as they are magical in this stunning exploration of love, loss, and family.

The book also came with a signed bookplate, a note from the author, and a pack of seeds.

Don’t forget that Owl Crate is now sending exclusive covers with their books (most months). There is a sticker that comes on the plastic bag that the book is shipped in but since I take the books out I decided that I would put the sticker on the inside sleeve. This way I will always remember where it came from and if I decide to look later why the cover is different then I see around.

Cabeswater Candle from In the Wick of Time – An OwlCrate Exclusive scent of Moss and Mint to transport you to the work of The Raven Cycle. Not a series I know but the candle has a great subtle fall scent. It smells like a cool fall day and I’m loving it.

Sherwood Forest Loose Tea from Riddle’s Tea Shop – You can’t think of the woods and not think of Robin Hood and this tea will transport you back to the Forest. Another OwlCrate exclusive item which goes great with this month’s theme and also the inclusion of the mug below.

Exclusive OwlCrate mug with artwork from Cara Kozik – This is the first time that OwlCrate has ever sent a mug and it is gorgeous. The artwork is so stunning that I had to include multiple pictures so that you can see it all.  The design wraps around the mug and is based on the Forbidden Forest from the Harry Potter series. We start with a view of Hagrid’s cottage with Buckbeak in the pumpkin fields right next door. Hagrid’s cottage is right next to the forest so a great start.

As we go around the mug we see Unicorns.

And then a Centaur and the  Weasley’s flying car and Aragog the Arachnid. All of the detail is so gorgeous I can’t wait to drink out of the mug and look at it all the time.

The mug has OwlCrate exclusive on the bottom and came in an OwlCrate themed box.

The back of the box has a secret saying and information on the mugs features.

Coaster designed by Kristin Askland – What could go better with a mug and hot tea but a new coaster. This one is so cute. It will be a great addition to my desk this fall to hold all of my drinks.

OwlCrate sends a pin each month representing the theme. What does everyone do with their pins? I have a collection of them that I would like to show off but not sure the best way to do that yet.

Magnetic Bookmarks from Craftedvan – Who doesn’t love Where the Wild Things Are? These bookmarks are beyond fun and will perfect to mark my place in my book. I’ll admit I used to be a page folder downer but I’m jumping on the magnetic bookmark bandwagon and how well they hold my page and stay where they are put. I can’t wait to flip open my  book and see these cuties.

Art print by Audra Auclair – An exclusive art print from Audra Auclair based on Sam from Princess Mononoke.  The depth in this print is fantastic. The print itself its on a nice sturdy cardstock and will go great in a frame but I just can’t get over how the characters seem to jump right off the page. They are magical.
