Bubbles & Books is a monthly subscription that sends a romance book and items to help you relax in your tub after a long day doing whatever you do. Need a break from the hectic work day? Step inside your bath spa. Wrangling little ones under your feet? Time to take some me-time in the tub. What can you expect from this subscription?

Every box contains at least one romance novel, one artisan-crafted soap, and one other book- or bath-related goody. However, the majority of our boxes contain more than this!

Bubbles & Books is $24 a month plus shipping.

My items were wrapped in blue tissue paper that was sealed with a Bubbles & Books sticker. Bubbles & Books has 3 genres to choose from: The Bad Boy Box, The Luxe Paranormal Box, and The Swept Away Box, which I am reviewing here!

Everything in my Swept Away Bubbles & Books September box! I received a historical fiction book, some bath salts, a bar of soap, and a book mark. I didn’t receive a product info card or any inserts.

Swan Song by Tracey Ward ($10.99) takes place in the Roaring Twenties so it is considered historical fiction but I wouldn’t have known that judging by the cover. Expect steamy love scenes.

Chicago, 1926 Surrounded by bullets and blood, gangsters and empty promises, singer Adrian Marcone navigates Chicago’s seedy underworld by keeping men at bay and her heart on ice. But trouble is brewing and the city is on the brink of war, calling a new soldier into the ranks. One who is dark, deadly, and so much more. So many things Adrian can’t deny. Now the city is heating up, Adrian is thawing, and she’ll learn that fate will not be denied. That some melodies, once heard, can never be forgotten.

Next up is a soap bar with a Bubbles & Books wrapper but which most likely comes from Simply Natural, as seen here ($7.50).

The scent is warm and musky but also has a fresh feeling about it. Very nice!

The Sugar Shak Bath Fairy Dust in Royalty ($4.99) is supposed to smell like lavender flowers and vanilla. I did pick out vanilla, along with more of a jasmine scent, and it smells almost edible! Just a touch of sparkle added a nice touch, without turning me into a disco ball. It fizzed, just like a bath bomb!

Golden Key 18K Gold Plated Bookmark by Book Friends ($2) is from Korea and says it is 18k gold-plated. It is very thin and has a wax cord that sticks out of the top of the book.

The gold key is a symbol of luck and wealth apparently and I can always use a bit more of both!

Bubbles & Books is a nice subscription for those who would like to soak their cares away. I think the book choice was ok, I usually think of historical fiction as being prior to the 19th century but that’s just my personal preference. I also don’t need my book to be steamy, I leave that up to the bubble bath, but I prefer something more proper. The soap and salt soak were good additions and the bookmark was a nice touch. I found these items to have a value of around $25.48, which is just under the price of the box plus shipping. I would love to see some more personalization, particularly since this book was not for me, and maybe an extra item to round out the box.
