Hello new look! ICYMI, Beauteque has changed the look of the beauty box subscription. I really like the clean look of the pink and white box and think the cosmetics/accessories drawings are totally adorable. The theme for August’s Beauteque Beauty Box is Bright & Balanced. This month’s skin-smoothing collection is designed to help you refresh your routine.
Here’s another change to the subscription. The information card is now digital. You can access product information and basic how-to-use directions by logging into your account, scanning the QR code, or visiting www.beautequemonthly.com/portal. The prices listed below are those of Beauteque, unless otherwise noted.
Here’s my first look in the updated subscription. Notice anything missing? There’s no longer a cosmetics bag included with the products. While I’m a little sad to see that go, I do have a substantial collection from my previous boxes.
The August Beauteque Beauty Box. I’m very excited by the giant yogurt bottle!!!
ésfolio | Hand & Nail Vital Mask ($4.90): This is a deep-moisturizing hand mask. It contains shea butter, jasmine, lavender, and chamomile to soothe dry hands. These are great for smoothing hands after working outdoors or in the winter to combat chafing from the cold.
ésfolio | Moisture Milk Hand Cream ($9.00): What better way to follow up your hand mask than with some hand cream. I had to giggle when I saw this in my box. My sister found this a few years ago at Forever 21 and has loved it ever since (she also got it for $5). This cream uses milk protein, seaberry, and quince to nourish and soften hands. I found that it doesn’t withstand hand washing as much as I would like, but it is non-greasy and smells great.
Yadah | Anti-T Mist – Soothing ($10.99): This is a gentle facial mist formulated to reduce redness and control excess oil on the skin. Green tea, purslane, and Indian frankincense extracts soothe irritated skin while Korean black raspberry extract, prickly pear extract, and hyaluronic acid nourish. Use this before applying makeup and throughout the day as needed. This felt cool on my face and had a pleasant fragrance that wasn’t cloying. BTW, sorry for the blurry picture.
CosRx | Acne Pimple Master Patch ($5.00): There’s a slight difference in price between the digital information card and website. I’ve gotten these before from Beauteque and have loved them ever since I figured out how to use them effectively. These are hydrocolloid patches; meaning they draw out fluids and hold them in a gel state. Although you can use these during the day, I find they are noticeable and only use them at night. Before going to bed, clean the affected area and place a patch over the blemish. When you wake, the patch should be cloudy/white. If you see anything else on the patch, that came out of the pimple! Gross, I know. BUT, you should also see a big difference in your skin. Usually, 1 or 2 treatments is all I need.
RiRe | Easy Clean Lip Remover ($9.00): First of all, this will not remove your lips or shrink them. LOL! The packaging refers to this as a lip manicure remover – I don’t think it’s taking off my nail polish either. What this actually is, is a lip color remover designed to easily clean off dark or long-lasting formulas. Work a small amount on your lips and wipe/rinse off. You can also use it to clean up your lip color if you’ve gone outside your lip line (use a cotton swab).
Welcos | Nature Inside Strawberry Yogurt Body Cleanser ($16.99): I was SO excited to see this in my box! I love the little yogurt drinks and thought this was a cute take on the iconic bottle. The creamy body wash does actually contain yogurt, as well as a lactobacillus complex. These exfoliate skin and provide antimicrobial properties. The wash is very moisturizing and smells like strawberries. On the information page, this is listed at $25.99.
Depending on whether you use the Beauteque website or the digital information page, the value of August’s Beauty Box varies between $56-$65. This is just shy of the promise that products will have “a value that’s at least 3x the cost of the box”, which would be between $66-$72. Regardless, I liked this box assortment enough that I didn’t offer to share anything with my family or friends. Seriously.
With this month’s curation, I should be smooth and glowy. I feel several of the items would be perfect for a winter month to help fight the effects of cold, dry air. Maybe, I’ll get lucky and see some products return in a few months’ time.

On a side note: Before trying any Asian cosmetic subscription, expect that most information on the package will be in the native language. That said, more and more brands are including directions/ingredients in English, and information can also be found in English on the majority of brands’ websites (you may have to choose a brand’s global or US site). Secondly, a large number of products focus on brightening or whitening the skin. As a person of color, I have not seen my skin color change. Instead, I’ve experienced that my skin tone gets evened out after prolonged use. However, your results may be different. And lastly, many products contain ingredients which are animal-derived, so these may not be an option if you are vegan.
