Happy Birthday Roost Crate! Roost Crate just turned one year old and sent a celebratory box this month so you can create your own party at home!

There was a card introducing the monthly theme, which was Ice Cream Social!

The flip side of the card had the product information. There was also an announcement of next month’s theme: Back to School!

Roost Crate gives back to their community by partnering with Capital Roots to give a portion of their proceeds to local farmers and vendors. They included a card that shows how you can win a bonus item in your next box by sharing your photos on social media.

There was a card with a yummy looking sundae on one side…

…along with instructions on using this brand’s topping. They forgot the part about “dip your spoon in the jar and insert directly in the mouth.”

Roost Crate had a supply issue with one of the products and apologized, let subscribers know, and replaced with a different item.

Everything in my box! Roost Crate sends 4-6 items each month such as jams, honey, sauces, snacks, candles, soaps & scrubs, unique home & kitchen items, and coffee & teas. This month was sundae-centric.

Not listed on the product info card was a rainbow dot ice cream cup and pink spoon. This was cute and adds a festive touch to the box.

Sundaes Best Hot Fudge Sauce is from Saratoga Springs and is made with chocolate, butter, and cream. Best eaten directly out of the jar, in my opinion.

Fat Toad Farm Traditional Goat’s Milk Caramel in Vanilla Bean OK, so technically Fat Toad Farm is located in Vermont but when it comes to tasty toppings I don’t care where they’re from, as long as they are good. You know how many ingredients are in here? Four, and I can pronounce them all. Heck, I can even find some of them in my kitchen.

Fat Toad Farm Traditional Goat’s Milk Caramel in Cold Brew Coffee A second offering of a scrumptious topping from Fat Toad Farm. If you are thinking maybe you need something different than the 7 flavors already offered, you can make a request and they will try their best to get it to you. I’m thinking chocolate mint would make a great addition.

On the top is the fudge topping, on the left is the traditional vanilla bean cajeta, and on the right is the coffee flavored cajeta. My favorite was the fudge, as it was classic and has been my favorite topping for ice cream since I was a kid. I’m not much into goats milk products but the vanilla bean flavor was less goatsy than the coffee flavored topping.

KIND Plus Dark Chocolate Cherry Cashew + Antioxidants Bar was the replacement item for the missing maraschino cherries and truthfully, I would prefer this anyways. It was crunchy and chewy plus it had chocolate drizzled all over it. What’s not to love? Plus, dried cherries are good for you anyways.

Healthy Gourmet Kitchen Banana Fruit Dip I couldn’t find this one on the website but there are several other flavors to choose from! I’m not into banana flavored stuff but my husband loves that kind of thing so I will grab some cream cheese and Cool-Whip (or you can whip actual cream) and make him some banana mousse. Place in a graham cracker crust and voila, you have a no-bake pie. Mix it with yogurt and serve as a dip with fruit or you can even turn it into frosting. How about topping the mousse mixture with strawberries or pineapple and a drizzle of the fudge topping for a banana split dessert? I can go on all day with this, it is so versatile.

As a teacher I can never have too many thank you cards so I am happy to add Greymount Paper & Press Lamb “Thank Ewe” Note Cards to my collection. I received two cards that are printed on sturdy cardstock and have craft paper envelopes. I love a great pun, don’t ewe?

Roost Crate always manages to send some awesome items from talented artisans! The theme was perfect for Roost Crate’s birthday and I have some tasty toppings to add some pizzazz to my plain vanilla ice cream. Some of these items can be ordered online, but others are only available in the NY area. If you like unique products that you might discover while wandering the farmer’s market, then give Roost Crate a try and let me know what you think of this box in the comments!
