The Boxwalla Food box contains delicious artisan crafted foods and goodies from all across the US! Boxwalla is a bi-monthly subscription service that offers four themes – natural beauty, artisanal food, international film, or books! In Boxwalla you’ll be able to discover great artisans and artists from across the globe.  After your first box you can switch themes, but of course you can subscribe to more than one box as well.

The food box focuses on small-batch goodies, but only the best!

I love the box itself, which is gorgeous, and save all of mine. The box itself is a luxe cotton rag paper covered box handcrafted by artisans in Rajasthan, India, and no child labor is ever used. The outside of the reusable box indicates which variety of Boxwalla you received. I love how the box itself supports socially and environmentally conscious goals.

The information card is a letter from “The Drunken Boxwallas” detailing each of the products.

There’s a new theme for the year – Story of the World Through Food – the June Box was themed “Slowly Summer.”

Everything in the June Boxwalla Food Box!

ZenBunni Chocolate Kathmandu Chai Choco ($20) This raw chocolate is made with biodynamic unrefined ingredients and has the most delightful packaging!

This drinking chocolate is “beyond organic” and has cane jaggery (natural unrefined sugar), chai spices, ashwagandha, and holy basil.

It’s meant to be melted up into some milk or nut milk with a delicious chai flavor. I love it!

ZenBunni Chocolate Queen Moon Reishi Gheenache ($20) From the same company, this organic “geenache” is made with cacao, reishi mushrooms, and ghee.

Basically I’m feeling like this would make the organic lady version of bulletproof coffee.

You can use it as a spread, eat off the spoon, or mix into said hot chocolate for a doubly delicious treat.

Wozz Kitchen Creations Spicy Summer Mango Chutney ($10) This is so delicious and really the perfect meal accompaniment for summer!

It’s absolutely perfect for topping cumin potatoes with (like a faux-mosa?) and great on chickens, other curries, anything you want to add a bit of spice to – tacos? At the very least nachos. Really fresh and spicy flavor.

Rickaroons Chocolate Blonde  ($2.08)  We received two of these dense vegan and gluten free energy bars.

They use 3 types of coconut: flakes, palm nectar, and oil plus blended almond.

This one was fully of chocolate but like a blondie instead of a brownie.

Ricaroons Megaroon ($2.08)

This rickaroon was plumped up with chia seeds and cacao nibs – superfood time!

I didn’t really get to taste these – my husband loves macaroons, and these were right up his alley. I didn’t get to even look at them before they disappeared!

This was a fun Boxwalla – so many product and brand introductions. I thought everything was a great little addition to something summer and I could feel the richness of the flavors with this season – very earthy and exotic with all the different spices and herbs!
