Orange Glad says this size box will “make 1-2 people happy.” I enlisted my daughters to try these treats so 3 people were made happy this month!

There was an information book inside that contained details about the companies, treats, and best-by dates.

I enjoyed reading about the makers and learning a bit about their companies!

Everything arrived in perfect condition! Well, except for the broken cookies, but I plan on dividing those up anyways.

UNNA Bakery makes traditional Swedish treats and two of their offerings were featured this month.

Raspberry Cave is made with wholesome ingredients and looks like traditional thumbprint cookies. This shortbread cookie is filled with raspberry jam and isn’t overly sweet and would go great with coffee or tea.

Farmer’s Cookies are mild and sweet shortbread cookies with crunch and are just delicious.

Shotwell Candy Co. Craft Beer & Pretzel Caramels are a classic pub pairing but in candy form! Buttery caramel is combined with Ghost River Brewing’s Golden Ale and crushed pretzels.

I’m not a beer fan but I still loved these caramels! They had a slightly more complex flavor than regular caramels and the saltiness and crunch from the pretzels was a nice touch.

Good things come in pairs and there were two different flavors from Carolina Girl Cooks. Their site recommends serving the cookies on ice cream or with tea.

Rose Tea Cookies are shortbread cookies that have ground rose petals and rose water in the ingredients and have a delicate floral flavor, although it stops just short of tasting like potpourri – I’m not a big fan of rose scented or flavored anything though.

Orange Cardamon Cookies are more to my liking. At first you get a hit of the cardamom flavor but then a strong orange flavor, which reminded me of marmalade, takes over and balances it out nicely. The base of the cookie is shortbread.

This month showcased a variety of shortbread type cookies but each one was unique in its own way and of course the caramel was super yummy. Each of the cookies would be perfect with tea or coffee. Unna Bakery recommends that we follow the Swedish tradition of a fika or little break and I second that idea! I am always excited to see what our country’s talented artisan dessert makers are producing and everything was delicious, fresh, easy to share, and tasty! Take a little fika and enjoy your treats!
