Roost Crate by Eat Picks is a monthly themed “Farmer’s Market” in a box filled with items from Upstate New York and the surrounding area. Every month, you’ll receive a crate of handmade, artisan-crafted goodies perfect for bath, body, & home.

Roost Crate is $39.95 a month or you can save a bit by signing up for a 3 or 6-month term. All terms, including gifts, will automatically renew until canceled. Boxes will have a value of $40-60.

Roost Crate gives back to their community by partnering with Capital Roots to give a portion of their proceeds to local farmers and vendors. They included a card that shows how you can win a free box by sharing your photos on social media.

My items were packed in paper squiggles with tissue paper and some bubble wrap and everything was in perfect condition.

Roost Crate sends 4-6 items each month such as jams, honey, sauces, snacks, candles, soaps & scrubs, unique home & kitchen items, and coffee & teas. I loved the variety of items that were included in this box and couldn’t wait to give them a try!

There was a card introducing the monthly theme, which was “Renew & Rejuvenate.” I have a stressful day job and so taking the time out to relax sounds like heaven to me.

The flip side of the card had the product information, value, and a short bio about each company featured.

There was another card with next month’s theme, “Tulip Fest”, and a teaser about something called The Golden Tulip.

The flip side gave info on how you might win a surprise bonus box if you receive the Golden Tulip, which sounds like a specially colored soap.

Collar City Candle in Revive ($14) I couldn’t find this particular scent on the Collar City Candle website, but you can choose from lots of different colors and scents to create your favorite candle. Revive is a blend of amber, Meyer lemon, and vanilla bean notes. It is a very faint scent but I enjoyed watching the flame as a sort of calming meditation.

RAD Soap Co Dreamy Bath Juice Mini ($9.99) Wow, I’ve never heard of bath juice before! RAD comes out with some pretty cool products and this blend of coconut and hemp seed oils, lavender and chamomile extracts, Dead Sea salt, melatonin, and MSM makes for a relaxing soak that will leave you soft while calming your mind. This is so cool and smells dreamy!

Christi Sobel Prints: Blank Pocket Journal ($7.50) I couldn’t find this cute little mini-journal on the website so I linked to the larger size, which has the same print and paper. The inside of this book has white paper that is unlined and this would fit perfectly into a purse or bag.

Harney & Sons Yellow & Blue Herbal Infusion Tea Sachets ($4) I am a tea lover and was happy to find this relaxing herbal tea in the box! This tea is made with chamomile, lavender, and cornflowers and smelled so lovely.

There were 3 sachets inside this tin and each one makes 2 cups of tea. I boiled 12 ounces of water and then shared it in the evening with my daughter and it was delicious. I think I will use 16 ounces of water next time though to make that quiet moment last a little longer.

Earthly Remedies by Erin Face Tonic ($12 for 4 ounces, $4 for 1 ounce) This tonic is in a spray bottle but it says to apply to a cotton pad and use on face to remove dirt, oil, and makeup. It is made with witch hazel, organic willow bark, colloidal silver, plus tea tree and geranium essential oils. It has an herby, natural scent and is supposed to be good for acne. I love natural beauty products and was happy to discover a new-to-me brand!

I’m always so excited when I get a subscription box in the mail, but a wrapped item is extra fun!

Crosby & Taylor Ohm Keychain ($7.50) This artist started out in New York but now lives in Oregon and makes beautiful items out of pewter, such as keychains, spoons, keyracks, and other objects. This keychain features the ohm symbol on one side…

…and the Roost Crate logo on the other! Pewter doesn’t tarnish but it may darken or develop a patina over time, which I think adds to its charm!

I always look forward to seeing what I might discover in my Roost Crate! They always seem to pick cute and useful items and I love that they featured a natural beauty item this month. I do indeed feel renewed after using my products. The April box had a value of $47, which means it hit their promised target value, too. Some of these items can be ordered online, but others are only available in the NY area. If you like natural and unique products that you might discover while wandering the farmer’s market, then give Roost Crate a try and let me know what you think of this box in the comments!
