Julep No Excuses Invisible Sunscreen Gel SPF 40 ($28) When I opened the info card this month, I thought why didn’t I get that sunscreen gel, I really need it! But I did, so I’m a happy camper!
This SPF is a transparent fast-absorbing face sunscreen in an light gel form.
Unlike last year’s SPF lipstick fiasco, this one has a year to expire.
Julep bills this product as containing age-defying ingredients (in addition to the #1 age defier: putting sunscreen on!):
- Rosehip Seed Oil delivers essentials nutrients to soother and repair skin
- Melon Extract from Jeju smooths, softens, and brightens skin
- Jeju Camellia Seed Oil moisturizes and stimulates collagen production
- Oxalis Triangularis Extract (Jeju Island love plant) protects skin against environmental damage with rich antioxidants
I love that this first base layer is also providing the power of natural actives to my skin.
It really does dry to a satin finish and I was really pleased with the formula.
Both of the polishes I selected this month turned out to be matte shimmers. I didn’t pay too much attention to the details – I usually select by color!
Eve Classic with a Twist Matte Finish Nail Lacquer ($14) Iridescent Lilac Matte Shimmer
This is a pretty lilac, and it’s a bit sheer, but holds up remarkably. I thought for sure it would wear away or chip off, but it didn’t!
Lida Boho Glam Matte Finish Nail Lacquer ($14) Sunflower Yellow Matte Shimmer
Can I admit that I picked this polish for my favorite Hufflepuff? My daughter’s favorite Hogwarts house (from Harry Potter) is Hufflepuff, and their color is yellow.
I probably wouldn’t regularly wear this one on my fingers, but it goes in the great pedi polish category. I actually really liked it with the lilac, and I could see stamping this one on the purple!
I ended up totally loving the matte shimmers I selected, and I always love sunscreen, and I was impressed with that formula. I don’t know why I didn’t do it sooner, but I switched my subscription to a 6 month subscription this past month – be sure to email in if you’re a subscriber because you can skip the boxes or use them as an easy gift! It was really hard for me to make selections this month – I ended up not getting the sea salt spray or the pedi crème, and I could have totally gone for any of the beachy fun goodies!
