Everything in my box!

The Hive Buzzbee The Magician by Grosset & Dunlap ($4.99)

Buzzbee has learned a brand-new magic trick, and he can’t wait to show his friends! It is all going well until Rubee disappears, and Buzzbee wonders if he went a bit too far.

Big illustrations and fun storytelling! This picture book was quick to win the kids’ hearts!

Henry Hubble’s Book of Troubles by Andy Myer ($9.88)

Meet Henry Hubble. He’s in a world of trouble. From class-trip bathroom breaks to Halloween-costume catastrophes to lunchroom-table love drama, Henry is always in the middle of a debacle. That is . . . until his journal makes him a media mogul and one of the most popular sixth graders in the world. But you’re just going to have to start reading to find out why.

The story is told through the main character’s journal entries. It’s an enjoyable and hilarious book recommended for middle grade readers. There’s also poetry and random doodles that make the book even more fun!

The Boy and the Whale by Michael Moniz ($16.89)

On a little island in the middle of the big ocean, there lives a little boy who is lonely. He dreams of adventure on the high seas and loves to go out on his boat every day to fish. He is about to meet a very big friend that will change his life forever.

It’s a heartwarming story about kindness and friendship, something that would be nice to be read aloud with kids.

Watercolor illustrations graced the book’s pages. The soft feel of the drawings fits well with the book’s theme, while the text looked like waves from the ocean.

Froggy Gets A Doggy by Jonathan London ($11.72)

Froggy is getting a pet—and only a dog will do!

Mom has agreed:  Froggy can have a pet.  Off to the pet store they go.  Mom would prefer a bunny or some mice, but Froggy and his little sister, Pollywogilina, have their hearts set on a doggy.  And when Froggy sees the little dog with big brown eyes, he begs to take her home.

Froggy promises he’ll take care of Doggy: put on her collar, take her for a walk, and teach her to sit up and beg. But Doggy proves harder to train than Froggy anticipated—and he’d forgotten about pooperscooper duty!

The Froggy series is pretty popular, and this one teaches a lesson about responsibility. Plus it features dogs too, so what’s not to like?

This is also ideal for a read-aloud session with the kids!

Four well-illustrated books, each offering an engaging story and a valuable lesson to the readers. We loved this month’s Read to Me Case! We’re excited to see what they have in store for the kids next month!
