BeadCrate is a monthly subscription box for bead enthusiasts. Every month you’ll receive a curated collection of beads, findings, and other goodies to enhance your beading creations! There are three box sizes – Hobbyist ($7.99), Enthusiast ($15.99), and Collector ($35) [prices don’t include shipping] to choose from. This is the Enthusiast Crate!

The beads always come neatly packaged inside individual well-labelled plastic bags inside a cute organza bag. We also have a curator’s note explaining the theme. This month, we are exploring the night sky with Aurora Borealis! Don’t you think that the small blue beads look like the night sky? I sure do! Also, you can share your creation on their social media (instagram or Facebook, don’t forget to tag them!) for a chance to get a little surprise in next month’s box.

The crate comes with a chart that tells you exactly what you’re getting.

How cute are these three strand of beads side by side? I might have to do something about that…

8mm Firepolished Montana Blue AB Czech Glass. I love the dark colouring with the AB coating. It really is like a dark night sky!

4mm Firepolished Iris Purple Czech Glass. At first, I thought they were of the same colour as the 8mm, just to prove how well they go together!

14x4mm Matte Medium Amethyst long tubes Czech Glass. I really like a lot of the beads this month, but I don’t know why, these are the ones for me. They are different from what I usually play with, but they are not over the top. I like the look they have being simply strung on a thread.

12mm AB stars. You can’t have Aurora Borealis and a night sky without a couple of stars! I like them, but as for a couple of their more unusual shape, I keep on looking at them without a clue of what to do with them. But I like them!

6mm Jet AB lentils Czech Glass. I’m thinking of doing earrings with them to showcase both their sides!

Oh, hi there! (Bird not included in the subscription.)

Toho 11/0 Transparent Rainbow Sapphire. I have some matte black toho beads somewhere, I might try to do a weaved bracelet to recreate the night sky!

3mm round cobalt AB Czech Galss. I love the colour. If it’s blue, I’m in!

6x10mm machine cute Tear Drop Crystal AB. They are lovely and so dainty! They would be awesome with darker beads for a pair of earrings!

3mm and 4mm Blue Goldstone. They are not real stone, but they are lovely nonetheless! Blue goldstones were the very first beads I bought when I started jewelry making, and the love hasn’t fade away! They will be lovely with the Tear Drops

Even thought the amethyst tubes were my favorites this month, the 8mm firepolished in Montana Blue AB were always on my mat so I’ve decided to showcase them, using black waxed cotton cord, black seed beads and the blue Toho beads and the round cobalt 3mm (lovelingly showcased earlier by Kiwi).

The beaded button gave me the most trouble, but I really like the result between boho and goth chic!

Look at that night sky! Such a pretty box, where everything fitted the theme perfectly! I wanted to do something using every type of beads, because I really like them all! With this subscription, I’m finally getting over my fear of seed beads, even though a lot of them end up on my floor…

Next month is Beachy Keen. What do you think we’ll get?
