Owl Crate is a monthly subscription of books and bookish items box. Each OwlCrate contains one new Young Adult novel, as well as 3-5 other bookish items all matched to the monthly theme. The curation on this one is top notch and the items area always so relevant and so fun. I love getting my box!

April’s OwlCrate theme is Head Over Heels. OwlCrate always has the best info card prints. They are really an extra all by themeselves. This months card is very meta and has books that OwlCrate has sent on the shelves and that is fantastic. The girl in the print reminds me cod Clary from The Mortal Instruments. I’m sure its the red hair but she’s who came to mind when I first saw it and she definitely would fall in the Head over Heels category for books.

The information card tells a little bit about all the items in this month’s box. I love how they give little notes on why they selected each item and other fun little tidbits about the selections.

Everything in my April Head over Heels OwlCrate.

The Upside of Unrequited by Becky Albertalli ($11.88) – I love a good romance story so this theme really grabbed me right off and this story looks so cute. It looks to be more a straight up romance with lots of fun tossed it.

Seventeen-year-old Molly Peskin-Suso knows all about unrequited love. No matter how many times her twin sister, Cassie, tells her to woman up, Molly can’t stomach the idea of rejection. So she’s careful. Fat girls always have to be careful.

Then a cute new girl enters Cassie’s orbit, and for the first time ever, Molly’s cynical twin is a lovesick mess. Meanwhile, Molly’s totally not dying of loneliness—except for the part where she is. Luckily, Cassie’s new girlfriend comes with a cute hipster-boy sidekick. If Molly can win him over, she’ll get her first kiss and she’ll get her twin back.

There’s only one problem: Molly’s coworker, Reid. He’s a chubby Tolkien superfan with a season pass to the Ren Faire, and there’s absolutely no way Molly could fall for him.

Right?

It also came with a note from the author, a signed bookplate, and sticker. All of this comes in a cellophane bag with the book so that it stays nice and flat and ready to go.

Pride & Prejudice fabric Headband by Storiarts – This is so detailed and I’m a bit in love with it. I have a big head and it fits me fine which is hard with all headbands. I’m a Pride & Prejudice fan but with the way this is done it could be almost any book and would still works. Take a look over at Storiarts and everything they offer. I’m totally gushing over so many of the items on there. They are all so pretty.

Anna and the French Kiss Tea from the Tea Spot – I have never heard of this book but I’m going to have to check it out. I’m saving this tea for a nice rainy day when I can curl up with a good book and sip away.

Keychain from Bookworm Boutique – This is a quote from Simon Vs. the Homo Sapiens Agenda which was the first novel by our featured author this month. Another book I’m going to have to add to my TBR list.

Candle from Novelly Yours – They sent out three different candles this month inspired by characters in Rainbow Rowell’s novels. I love the smell of mine. I mean who doesn’t love the smell of coffee, pumpkin and chocolate. I will say it reminds me of fall so on one of these hot days I’m going to burn it and think of cooler weather.

Print from Evie Bookish – I’m pretty sure I’m the only person who hasn’t read the Court of Mist and Fury. Everyone says they are fantastic and I keep thinking about them but haven’t jumped into them yet  I do love this print though it reminds me of the paper I just got my boys that you use a wooden stick to scratch away the top layer and a colored pattern is below it. It is so much fun and this looks so much like it.

Back in the May 2016 OwlCrate Box we got the book Everland by Wendy Spinale and this is an exclusive sneak peek excerpt of the follow up. I really enjoyed Everland so I can’t wait to dig into Umberland. I love a good fractured fairytale and this one comes out soon on May 9th!

Each month Owlcrate also sends a pin that has that boxes theme represented.

I love a good romance so this months Owl Crate was totally up my alley. There are so many great couples in novels and they are what really sucks you in and keeps you wanting more.  I love having a favorite to ship with all of my friends and its what makes me devour a book and read all the way through.  Some great couples were celebrated this month and fun items were included to represent them.

May 2017s theme is Comic Explosion and each box is going to include a full size Funko POP figure!

What did you think of this month’s amazing Owl Crate theme? Are you ready for next month’s?
