Orange Glad March 2017

The family was ready to help me review the March Orange Glad Box. I am never short on help when it is time to taste test.

Theo

We fell in love with Theo Chocolate when introduced to it at a Mother Earth News Fair. Theo Chocolate is the first North American Organic and fair trade certified bean-to-bar maker. The chocolate bars are also soy-free!

Theo Chocolate Hazelnut Crunch Chocolate

The Theo Chocolate Hazelnut Crunch Chocolate Bar (1.9 oz, $2.00) had a delicious crunch wrapped in smooth chocolate. The hazelnut brittle was spread throughout the chocolate satisfying my husband’s expectations and tastebuds.

Theo Chocolate Bread & Chocolate Bar

I found the Theo Chocolate Bread & Chocolate Bar (1.9 oz, $2.00) to be delectable. The bread crumbs blended well with the rich dark chocolate providing a satisfying crunch with every bite. I am the only dark chocolate fan in the house and am glad that Orange Glad sent both a milk and dark chocolate bars.

Speculoos Cookies

The family taste-tested the Little Belgians Vanilla Speculoos Cookies (4 cookies, $2.00) and the Little Belgians Original Speculoos Cookies (4 cookies. $2.00). The buttery shortbread cookies are crunchy and go well with coffee, tea, or hot chocolate.

J (age 8) preferred the original speculoos cookie which tastes more buttery to him. Everyone else preferred the vanilla speculoos cookies because of the tasty combination of butter and vanilla.

Traditional Alfojores

We want more Wooden Table Baking Co Traditional Alfojores (2 cookies, $1.50 ea, $3.00 total)! The non-GMO shortbread type cookies had a dulce de leche filling and was rolled in shaved coconut. Dulce de leche cream gave the soft cookies the right amount of sweetness. It was difficult to share with everyone because the cookie practically melted in my mouth.

Everyone found a favorite this month. My favorite treat this month is the Traditional Alforgores. I view this box as more of a discovery box because the value is low. The delicious treats tasted fresh and were easy to share with my family. It’s a great box for discovering new treats.
